He is only 31 just past his peak

 

Best player I saw last season. Shame we can't compete for players of that quality

 

They need a Young or a Cook! I wouldn't mind a couple of theirs joining us either.

 

He will probably be set for the next few years so might settle for a reasonable payday

 

Manic at work so not getting on much to reply.
Of course we wont be anywhere near if we play poorly, but it is only 2 games in (1 league game) and we have the points in the bag, 3 more than we had at this stage last season.
The players are still getting to know each others game and hopefully improve with time and by the sounds of it GA is not quite finished,
I was just slightly amazed at the level of negativity from some quarters,so far .
Something GA kind of alluded to in his press conference, saying that what has happened in the past needs letting go..
Its a fresh start for all.
I have not seen us play as yet and if i am walking away from VP tomorrow, after watching a win, then its a good start.
Results first and with confidence, performance should follow.

 

Yes but with his injuries his bodys closer to 40. Him and Sharp may both prove me wrong but I remember Charlie Austin looking good for about all of 5 games last year before it became obvious why he'd dropped to league 2

 

Absolutely no need for negativity after finishing last season in good fashion and a great win to start this one. I would still like a couple more in but I think we are in a good position for a strong challenge

 

As usual anything that doesn't conform to your narrative is obviously negativity. Try look at it how most of is intended, not just paint anything that isn't happy clapping as being bad.

 

Even the manager who hasn’t been here ayear yet notices it. A lot of it is negativity for the sake of it. At this stage of the season there is little to be negative about

How can he notice it, we've not had a home game yet this season? And don't telle he reads social media cos that won't wash. If he's on about Valley Parade it's his job as manager to get the fans looking forward to turning up to every home game, if they aren't he's not doing his job properly. The fans at VP are.no fools, they've had a gut full of managers talking the talk. If you get it right they'll back you to the hilt.

 

I agree with that, there's a bit of give and take involved. I assumed he was on about the negativity when we have a spell out of possession or booing at half time when its 0-0 as has happened in games under him. I've got to say that's too much but yes the club are lucky that 20 thousand + fans still give a toss after the years of let down!

 

Oh don't get me wrong, fans who just shout 'gerrit forrad' do my head in I'd prefer to see us respect possession than give the ball away needlessly

 

I think it comes with all the lies and broken promises, the big reveals before season ticket sales, the numerous statements about mediocrity. After a while it tends to wear you down..

 

I’ll be surprised if the rumour is true, but apparently one of our young un’s is coming your way on loan. A versatile attacking midfield player. Normally play as a 10, but also happy as the 8, 7 or 11. Quick, direct, good ball carrier. Eye for a pass, goal,scorer and an engine to go box to box if need be. Only made a couple of appearances for the first team in pre season games but scored n both. Apparently picked up an injury. Successful loan last year in league 2. Not sure how he hasn’t had a chance with the first team. Like I say just a rumour and quite possibly bollocks. Consequently I won’t be giving names.

Good article on width of a post this week talking about our home form. We don’t lose that many but 18 draws over the last two seasons tells its own tale we need to turn those draws into victories this season we have the attacking players to do it let’s hope this is the year they deliver

 

I think you are being premature. No club and no names. What is point of posting this?
