Welcome 3 points, would have been different had MK not spurned numerous gilt edged chances. Not too sure performance wise, thought we were poor when in possession and looked leggy for large parts of the game. Pattison our best player by some distance, no one else really stood out.

Useless defending or good attacking? I go the latter. Teams will struggle against MK Dons.

Agreed. We broke away quite nicely in the second half and had Kavanagh waste a pass on two occasions and then it toook a desperate tackle from their defender to stop Oliver (who looked a step up from the previous version)

LWB massive issue stood out a mile problem area all game. No issue with wright playing further up but he looks way out of his depth at LWB.

I thought we looked very comfortable in that last 20 minutes.

MK played like we did under Hughes, plenty of possession without looking particularly dangerous. They played that last 5 minutes as though they were winning. A lack of atmosphere from the home crowd in such a vast stadium that looks empty cannot help when they are chasing a game.

But they didn't. As the season progresses MK are likely to improve. Hopefully so will we.

At the end of the season that could have been our toughest away fixture and have come away with a deserved win. Several pundits have tipped them as champions. So great start let’s hope we can build on it.

Very good interview with GA on Sky, over the moon with the win but we have to take more care of the ball - we could have created a lot more chances if we had.
We defended bravely but they did open us up with ease at times and their issue was missing chances.
Odour showed some real maturity when he came on
Well done lads and 1800 fans

Early days we know there will be teams come to Valley Parade and we will be all over them and get nothing from the game, we did what we had to and yes rode our luck at times but all round I'm not disappointed, I'll take the same at Grimsby Tuesday night to go through to the next round all about results early in the season, that should build confidence which hopefully will translate into the way we play on the park.

Good away win and 3 points. No where near the finished article and rode our luck but who cares?

We do need to find space for walker to start unless he is to be used as an impact sub?

Pattison is showing to be the player we all hoped he was.

Oliver a step up? He played 5 minutes. I've missed your take on things just for the laugh it gives me.

We did ride our luck and yet we should have had at least a couple more. I think we are going to score a lot more this season

That has always been the question mark with regards Wrights game, we know what we get from him going forward it's what the lad can't do defensively unfortunately, let's hope he can grow into the position as Halliday did last season he was very dodgy early doors.

Cannot ask for more results wise, plus there was plenty of positives to take from the performance, as well as some shaky moments.

Terrific start. Pattison, Sarcevic, Kavanagh all linked well. Defensively the right side was a little concerning where the Baldwin-Halliday pairing looked a rusty in the first half but better in the second. Thought Wright was decent offensively but was caught out a few too many times for my liking. What I did like is Alexander’s reaction to their changes in the second half made us much stronger and the last 10-15mins we looked ok, outside of their chance right at the end.

More importantly on the positive, Pattison looked really good. Sharp, fast and good all over the pitch plus a cracking goal. The front 5 looked very decent at times and some better decision making in the first half, we could have had 3.
Byrne looked decent IMO and Sam Walker carried on form last season which was pleasing. Smallwood played his role well.

On paper and reflecting on the game, the squad we have is one we absolutely should be competing right up there with this season. Even with the likes of Gillead who didn’t even make the squad, today we showed there are definitely things to be positive for the season ahead.

A good start. Let’s not get carried away but enjoy the moment.

Thats exactly the game I watched. If it wasn't for them still having the same problem they had last season they'd have walked that game. Bar the great shot from Pattison and the wicked deflection we created very little and had little respect for possession. Not wanting to sound negative, just what I took from watching the game.

I disagree with that yes you sacrifice a bit at the back with Wright but make up for it going forward

Imagine if we'd have lost as many expected, we have no divine right to walk this league but a wins a win, and great for those who took time out to travel big well done guys.

It's the gamble we are taking with the hope it will result in more goals for us, realistically this was likely to be the one of the biggest tests for us defensively and the majority of games we'll be the ones doing most of the attacking, especially at home. I don't see that changing at all this season, it will ask a lot of Kelly and Pattison who'll need to help out more defensively.
