Insider Chicken on X. He has got a few things right, but always to be treat with caution.

He says the player Parker said has fallen through was a striker, not a midfielder.

If true then it shows that there are more than just the players mentioned in the paper that we are willing to let go.

McDonald, Wilson and Oliver mentioned publicly but if Smith is available then you’d imagine that players such as Oduor, Stubbs and Richards might also be allowed to go if we receive offers for them.

More than caution.... they have a habit of tweeting something that's posted on here and bragging he had insider info. Can't remember who it was who had info from training a few weeks back and the early fixtures? Within no time they copied it word for word and tweeted it themselves.

When they gets things wrong, they delete the tweets too. It's like we have our own Alan Nixon.

I know there was 1 club that looked at Smith just before deadline day as a late loan option but the manager decided against it as they were able to get another target instead, it sounded like we were willing to let him go so I wouldn't be surprised if we looked to move him on as he is probably a big earner in the context of being 4th or 5th choice.
I've thought since the season ended that Stubbs will go, if the clause in his contract was in our favour I don't they we would have trigger the extra year. For me he got away with a lot of criticism last season and he was nowhere near as good as he was in the 22/23 season.

Think there will be quite a few moving on next month as deadline date approaches, and incomings too

I hope Smith stays I think he has plenty of goals in him and at the least he is worth a place on the bench

I tell you what. This club has an absolute knack of releasing good news when the criticism seems to go up a few notches. People start to question the recruitment and David Sharpe comes out with a script taken from Ryan Sparks desk and then next day bang. The prodigy signs a new contract. The tag line “He’s one of our own” is used to stir up emotion. Bore of Bradford. I can see through your shite.

disingenuous bollocks peddled by the club for years love him or hate him at least Lawn was straight talking and we knew where we stood

year on year it’s just soundbites i genuinely thought Sharpe would shake things up and was exactly what we needed but he’s just window dressing to appease the fan base just another patsy in a long line of patsys who will end up taking the flack which is exactly why he was brought in

Sparkes remains in charge making all the decisions but can hide behind yet another patsy as will GA be

the club is rotten to the core, mismanaged by a disinterested owner and a snake oil salesman as CEO

Anyone sucked in by the latest preseason slogan expecting any different outcome will be again very disappointed , I for one have seen through the absolute lack of integrity and let’s be honest lies peddled from Sparkes Rupp and their puppets

I love Bradford city but the club we have at the moment isn’t what I fell in love with, I have accepted we are shit on the whole over the last 40 years but I’ve never felt this disenfranchised I’m left with no optimism or interest , I log in this site most days and follow news reports hoping for a glimmer of hope that will change the way i feel but all I get is evidence to support ,why the first time in 40 years I haven’t bought a season ticket

I want us to succeed I accept successful nd are few and far between but nothing for the last few years has made me feel we will be

I hope I’m proved wrong but I hope that every year and I’m ok with using my Saturdays differently but I want to be there but not under this current regime

it stinks and it’s top to bottom I’m not asking for champions league but I’m asking for fight , honesty integrity and something to make me feel differently

It's definitely worse than that Jon.

Norwood is a better option than any other striker apart from Cook ..... And maybe even Cook aswell.

It does seem McDonald has been left behind, not surprised really as I can't see him playing unless we're absolutely desperate and I worry he's on a decent wedge - would be nice to be able to get shut and get a replacement in as I think DM is our weekest position

T&A confirm McDonald didn't travel, sounds like they think he'll move on. Johnson hasn't travelled either to rehab back at the training ground. Ibbotson was added to the party when Johnson was left out. Halliday, Kav & Baldwin all travelling.

He is out there i believe.
No more of these 3 year contracts, if it does not work you are lumbered.
2 year with a 1 year option in the clubs favour.
Professional footballers and their contracts are a joke.

True, but the bigger jokes are the ones that hand them out. Especially at this level, there is no need for long term deals for most of any squad at this level. Maybe a handful of players under 21 who you want some sort of selling value for, but other than that it should be 2 years tops.

Managers in L1&L2 barely last 2 seasons, expecting players to stay for 3+ and fit with multiple managers and multiple systems does no favours for all.

A very harsh lesson in contract negotiations.
We must improve significantly in this area.
Look how ridiculous the 3 year contracts have turned out.
It's proving problematic when wanting to get rid and obviously holding up any further Incoming deals.
I read somewhere McDonald might have received an offer from a club north of the border.
We still have a little time to move certain players on in this window but the club can only make other clubs and agents aware of player availability.
    Hopefully we've learned our lesson.

Football agents also for me ,parasites of the first degree. Are footballers that thick they can not negotiate their own deals.
They certainly have enough spare time

There was a youtube video of JJ Watt, former NFL great who now is a part owner of Burnley and he cannot get his head around football agents. He said in the US, the clubs NEVER pay the agent a penny. The agent works on behalf of the player, so the player pays the agent in the states and the most they can make off the player legally is 3% of the contract. It was alien to him that the buying club have to pay for the player and then also pay the agent for making the deal and I totally agree. It shouldnt be up to the clubs to pay agents when the agents are technically working for the player. If the player wants an agent, they should be covering agent fees.

Learning lessons and Bradford City. A snowball in hell's chance.
Callum Johnson, is this another player we will see little of. You do not leave him out of the training camp because of a niggle GA's words.
3 weeks to the season start and he has not trained with the first team squad. I will be amazed if we see him play before October.
Sincerely hope i am wrong, but we have been here before,

Its not just contract negotiations though - its transfers/finding a new/suitable club.

Players dont have access to all the contacts.
