There is no pleasing some folk!

I for one am happy to see Wright back, he came to the club initially on loan, fit and hungry but then we lost him to Plymouth. A move I don't believe he will have wanted, but Villa received a fee for him so why wouldn't they let him go? He ended up back with us, in familiar surroundings albeit unfit and lacking in confidence. It did seem though that GA managed to get him fit and restore confidence and we saw glimpses of the player we had on loan. He is now ours permanently, he can properly put down his roots, he gets a full (minus a week and half) pre-season under his belt and will hopefully hit the ground running! GA clearly wanted him back and I am happy he is back. We know the player he can be, let's hope he brings that player to the (promotion) party.

GA has now come out and said he has brought him back to play wing back. Looks like the defence is more or less sorted now then. Cannot see the Brentford lad coming now then, if indeed we were ever in the running.

We probably wanted him if we couldn't sign Wright permanently. GA prefers his perm signings judging by last season's selections.

He's also said he was playing with a broken toe at the end of last season, which will clearly have had an impact on his game. That does give me hope that once he is fully fit and with a full pre season behind him, we might start to see Wright version 1 again.

Why wouldn't he want a move to Plymouth, that makes no sense? A better club in terms of success, better wages and a chance to showcase yourself to a higher audience. I've seen it written a few times on here that Plymouth was a wrong move for him, thats clearly wrong. The move he made was the right one at the time.

Every other pro in that situation would have made the exact same move. Plymouth will have given him a ridiculous wage rise, which then will have gone up by another 25-35% when they got promoted 6 months later. It's a short career, you make the most of the opportunities to make money. Those 18 months at Plymouth will have made him more than his 2 years, probably 3 year is the option is triggered will make him. Fair play to the lad that he made great money for 18 months and has now the chance to kick on again and still has years on his side.

Exactly. He now knows what is required to play at a higher level, something he would never have found out staying at Bradford. Banked a decent pay rise and gained experience at a better club. Probably now found his level.

We're judging left wing backs by shots on target now?

He’d have regretted it the rest of his life, wondering “what if”. A step too far , especially for a youngster.

Exactly, no harm whatsoever giving it a go, best way to find what your levels are.

People shouldn't criticise people for wanting to better themselves, that goes for football as well as any other profession. They should look to our own clubs failings as to why Plymouth is currently a much better prospect, there you will find who you should be displeased with.

This wonderful notion that he should have stayed at Bradford at the time. And achieved what exactly? You only improve by raising the levels at which you play at.

If what Hughes said at the time of Wright leaving is correct I'm not sure he was on a ridiculous wage at Plymouth, he said we were close but couldn't quite match it, and Bradford City aren't renowned for paying massive salaries unless your Benito Carbone .

He had a broken toe (kept under wraps from the public) according to GA this morning.

Good grief. I asked him to show some stats that he had had a good end to the season. He couldn't. So I went and found them. Halliday scored didn't he? If he's high up the pitch and cutting in on his better right foot, should he not be shooting?

Hallidays scored 2 or 3 goals all season, still good enough for player of the year? Anyone that went to those last 6 games could see that Wright played well. I'm sure you could single out 6 games in any players season where their stats look poor. If that's all you look at then the whole team wants binning off bar Cook

Please answer the question @Park bantam@Park bantam has refused to answer so far - If you say he played well, provide the data points that show he played well. Until then, my point of view was that he was largely ineffective in impacting the match despite the wins.

He's left footed I think Bots? Or, at least he took a few corners with his left foot.
