We're skint, there's not many more times he can say it. We've been completely misled by Sparks and the "competitive" budget is more likely to actually be around mid table and given the investment in Hughes' huge and disappointing squad we've now got to cut our cloth accordingly and cut costs.

I think he might be tempted to go with just the two sitters in there like at Derby until Walker is fit. If so we've got 3 'specialist' (without Walker and Pattison) and a couple of others that could fill in.

Maybe he sees Pattison as a 10 not a central midfielder if so we do have enough quality in the 10 with chapman,Walker & pointon who can play there. Hope that’s his thinking anyways where crying out for a central midfielder

 

I dont think people have an issue with Lewis going. If it was in the summer, then fair enough. But this season, he's cost us a lot of points. The issue is how the club moves forward. Signing a 32 year old goalie who's played 50 games in 6 years is shocking recruitment.

An people can bang on about Lewis not having many games under his belt, but heres the difference. Lewis was still a rookie. He has his whole goalkeeping career ahead of him. He could of been a world beater or a dud, it was a risk but there is a potential for it to work out. Walker on the other hand is a known quantity. Charlton fans arent overly enthusiastic about his appearances. An lets be honest, at 32 years of age, if you are good enough, you arent sitting on the bench at a league one club
