He could try Chapman. I guess though, if his body language is as negative in training as it is when playing, we can see why he's not getting picked. LOL!!

You can't just pick nobody though!

I suppose he'll go with Odour again but for me it would be Gillead and Pointon with McDonald replacing Smallwood during his ban.

If we are down to absolutely bare bones then that’s what it would have to be.

How many players in our entire history have we retained and whom played at the peak of their careers for us?

I think a 10 is an attacking midfielder just behind the striker 8 plays deeper

what is Walkers position here? I’d say attacking midfielder aka number 10.
Not sure where this nonsense 8 has come from?

Didn’t David Layne go on to play at a higher level for Sheff Wed and made more appearances for them? I’d suggest that was his peak. A bit before my time but a quick google gave me this info.
I’ll give you Bobby but ultimately he spent most of his career in the lower levels of English football.

Swindon fans are starting to get very bitter on Twitter or X or whatever it’s called today. They think we all hate Young which is quite the opposite. It was all about Hughes

At his peak BC ,(imho) was in the lower leagues of course. Yes DL scored more at BCAFC than the higher league Wed.

The kid is clearly wanted by GA and the fans alike so I see no reason he would be irritated at getting called back, quite the opposite. His issue was with Hughes, not the club in general. We need some spark up front, and hopefully he can provide that.

A number 8 is a box to box midfielder whereas a number 10 is an attacking midfielder who plays mainly between the opposition midfield and defence. Walker has been playing deeper under Alexander with a role defensively as well as attacking rather than how he played under Hughes when we played 4231 and he played further up the pitch.

David Bronco Layne I was lucky enough to be around to see the great man, left foot right foot great header of a football and they weren't like modern balls bang in the net, I believe he would have gone on to play for England if he hadn't got involved in match fixing with Peter Swan and Tony Kay.
Bobby Campbell comes a very close second with regards strikers/center forwards I've had the pleasure of watching in Claret & Amber both players were fearless.

I think the ship has sailed for Young at City I would be much happier with him being sold for a decent profit as bringing players back in form from a low. rarely works out.
