There is an obsession over selling Young. Sure, everyone has a price but feck me, GA is just about to get the divisions top scorer on a 'free transfer'. Club doesnt even have to negotiate a deal!

We need a striker. These are facts and finding a goal scorer is like looking for rocking horse shite. Few and far between have ended up at our club the last 20 years.

 

Well said. I would also be inclined to go for Kemp if we can I personally would not sell Young, we need strength in depth to gain promotion.

 

I'd be happy with Oliver move as it just hasn't really worked for him here and he's been incredibly unlucky with injuries.

That said, even if we kept Young, we'd still have to replace him with another target type forward.

 

Maybe that's why we are allegedly looking to bring in Harry Smith from Sutton, who is 6'5''

 

How about Josh Stokes at Aldershot. Promising young striker, scored impressive goals in their FA Cup run.

I'm thinking we send back Tulloch & Afoka. Then we see Chapman, Stubbs, Osadebe & Derbyshire leave. Maybe Pointon on loan after a new deal? But the 6 above for sure. Then maybe you have questions if players like Oliver want to leave to start?

I wouldn't be surprised to see another wing back come in. Maybe another target man and a leggy midfielder, that's about it really until we get to the point of replacing players who we were expecting to keep but they leave for minutes.

 

Is that for real though? I've seen a post on here but not seen it anywhere credible.

 

I wouldn't worry about it. He predicted Lee Gregory would be signing for us a while back. He thought Alexander was a terrible appointment.

Its been on a couple of those online transfer rumour sites. Mansfield,FGR and City already made bids if the rumours are to believed

 

Pointon would be foolish to sign a new deal at this point.

To be fair to GA he has made us pretty solid, given the players some belief back and certainly improved results.
But in the longer term he is making the most of an ordinary and average bunch - some of the pap I've seen that Gent has in reality brought some gems into the club is a load of nonsense, on the whole he has provided exactly what the team is - average.

I would not be surprised at all if Alexander tries to do a bit more business than he has indicated to date - we currently have a mid table to lower play off place team at best that lacks key quality (particularly when Walker is out) and Gary must know this deep down.
His public comments had to have an element of lifting moral.
I just hope he, Sparks and Gent have been hard at work behind the scenes to help us tweak things

 

In general the league doesn't lie. We are in the lower half because of the recruitment and quality in the squad. Does our current disinterested owner and B&M CEO have it in them to sort what is needed. I'm pretty sure they don't.
