Think Pickford was only here for six months.,then went to Preston.

 

Did about 3/4's of the 2014-2015 season with us and then recalled by Sunderland around deadline day in March 2015 as it was then I think.
Went to Preston for the start of the following season

 

Dropped to the bench. Young up top on his own, extra body in midfield to try and shore up the defence. Worked well until Accy Stan scored 3 in 8 injury time minutes!

 

Judging by Jake Young's latest interview he isn't against coming back (not that he has any choice in the matter), he just wanted to play, he seemed quite mature about it. He was also talking about having a 4 year contract. Nice situation for us, with Cooky Monster and Smith partnership improving by the game and Vidaine Oliver back.
also if Jake Young keeps scoring at Swindon up until January at 22 he will likely attract interest from clubs with money to spend. Nice problem for us to have for a change.

 

He did well to play 33 league games in six months then

 

Best result would be He comes back, continues to score, repeats in next season and we sell him for £3million, spending £2.50 of that on a thank you card and second class stamp to send it to Swindon.

 

So it didn’t…………work well. No outlet !

 

Yet you have folk on here like @Kevin1954 suggesting he could refuse to play!!! He really has it in for Young - bizarre.

Young was wrong to disrespect Hughes on the training pitch. Seems like it was boiled out of frustration and a manager that in the end exposed himself as a fraud. Young obviously has talent, but he is a young kid at the same time and hopefully matured a bit and has learnt to keep his mouth shut.

Seems like Young continued to work hard and despite his non scoring Barrow spell, Pete Wild said a few nice things about him.

 

Would he be in the starting 11 today , yes or no.?

You were suggesting Young could refuse to play. You were babbling on about breach of contract and some other nonsense.

PS - I said on numerous occasions I hoped Hughes and Young could work it out. Ive always thought he was an asset.

 

The option of having another 6ft+ forward up front with Young brought back makes complete sense

 

Well in the grand scheme of things it did - we won 4-3. Young was subbed, Austin came on and scored.
