Bruce Bannister+Overhead kicks for City

I was in the Bradford End! Just to the left of the goal. 3/4 way up the terrace.

Dead in line with the ball hitting the net.

 

Stanley Collymore’s was also at the same end. I thought of those two after seeing the goal yesterday.

 

I was there for the Bannister goal, also Danny Forrest scored a brilliant overhead kick as well.

 

Was it against Barnsley? Just when I started going

 

I remember Terry Dolan scoring one ( called bicycle kicks back then) against Southport in 76/77 season

 

Didn't King Omar Daley score one too?

 

Bannie was my first childhood footballing hero.

I remember his overhead kick goal.

 

I was on the kop, couldn't believe when it hit the net, mind Barnsley's fans weren't too happy

 

I too was in the Bradford End, right in line with Bruce. An amazing goal.

 

Don’t remember that one Grumps. When was that roughly please.

I was there for the Bannister goal against Barnsley.

Strangely enough I was in the Midland Road stand, I never went in that stand, except to change ends sometimes.

I think it was the only goal, scored in the 89th minute.

One to remember.

He was my boyhood hero Bruce Bannister along with John Hall.
I don't remember that goal as i was only 8 years old at the time but if i were there for that game i would have been in the Midland Road at the Bradford End side of the ground stood on a couple of bricks so's that i could see over the wall.

I actually spent many many hours emulating Banny on grass whilst perfecting the overhead kick, and scored up to a dozen (that I can remember) as a player over the years.
