Grant was accused of killing Jahmall Moore in 2005, but was cleared of murder in 2007. However, on 23 July 2010, Grant was found guilty, along with Gareth Downie, of killing 21-year-old Leon Labastide in May 2004. The courts heard that both incidents were part of "tit-for-tat" shootings in the Stonebridge Park estate in Harlesden. He received a life sentence, subject to a minimum of 25 years in prison.

On 31 October 2014, Grant was given right to appeal to conviction after three senior judges at the Court of Appeal had concerns over the 2010 trial as police failed to disclose important details about one of the key prosecution witnesses. However, the appeal was rejected in November 2015, the judges concluding that the evidence remained compelling

MacAnthony ain't no fool Kev. After over 15 years of football management he know what constitutes a good player. Doesn't always get it right but their system works for a club that really punches above its weight.

 

He’s learnt off Fry RT. I remember living in the area when DM took over…..Naïve to say the least. His background……Estate Agent from memory. He’s learnt on the job in effect. No different to most other long term owners.

Bejesus……….Isn’t there also some form of mutual relationship with individual non league sides where the clubs nominate players for “development“ . I’m sure I had heard it locally a few years back?

 

Certainly is, I think there's about a dozen, teams like Wisbech, Maldon & Tiptree, Heybridge Swifts etc.

Not denying he's learned a lot off Barry Fry, he admits to it regularly. But you pick up a lot in nearly 20 years, especially when there are millions of pounds involved. It really isn't hard to spot talent in a footballer. But how you get that talent to shine is another matter.
