I'm amazed at the " dust ourselves down and go again" phrase. Surely the medical could weed out the dusty ones

    I know, I’m just re-iterating that I hate it.
I ‘go again’ every Monday morning but it’s shite.

Im generally negative when it comes to BCAFC - esp RE Hughes’ approach to matches, but getting Cooky to sign on should give even the biggest doom mongers some hope.

Cookie signing is a boost but an awful lot needs to change if we are to even grab a play off spot
MH needs to see his mistakes from last season and learn how to play like a L2 team
We are Bradford not Barcelona !!

I cannot be anything other than negative about yet another season arsing around in L2. We failed totally last season which was the chance to get clear. This season is a different matter with Wrexham, Notts, Gills, Accy, MK Dons, Stockport, Salford, Mansfield, Morecombe, Forest Green all punching. Given that the squad is shaping up to be a "rinse and repeat" of last season I have zero expectations, Andy Cook will not be scoring 30 goals again so we need some serious recruitment to support him in that department. Overall we need 7-8 quality signings that are First XI starters from the get go. Cannot see beyond 10th as things stand and its going to take some really eye catching signings to change my view.
Otherwise its Sparky gone by Christmas and god knows where we go from there.

Morning Rockets staying positive and looking forward to a good season and hopefully city moving on up . Saturday I watched Haworth CC 2nd team who won by 2 runs a decent day out supping bottles of San Miguel . Let’s keep the faith Marching on Together.

Do we all remember when Brentford were in the same division has City and had home crowds of 3 to 4 thousand and this wasn't to long ago.Today Brentford paid £22 million for a player and it shows the fortunes over the years of both clubs which have taken different paths and i just hope next season will be our path to recovery.

Nail on the head Raymondo (and welcome back). To me it doesn't matter who Hughes signs, if he plays the same turgid football he did last season we are going to struggle to finish in the top ten.

We had a top three squad last season, that were badly misused. I reckon he will be gone by new years day.

We've been shite for longer than 6 years. I'd say we've been in that category for about 15 years of the last 22.

Can you start another thread and post on there please? Such enthusiasm is misplaced on here. You could call it the Positivity thread, or alternatively, go to the Wrexham, Notts County, Stockport will have the autos by October thread and counsel them.

Not really feeling any negativity, to be honest.

I'll be taking the Summer one transfer at a time before I completely settle on my prediction, but thus far I'm in the 'top three' camp.

There are numerous good-looking sides going into the next season, but we're very much one of them - and we achieved exactly what I thought we might be getting into the play offs last season despite being a work in progress in my eyes.

I expect we're going to be a much greater force this season, and all due to incremental improvements throughout the first team rather than another daft, blind overhaul.

And whats the biggest difference between the clubs? For me, it’s the leadership from the top and having a plan.

they were pioneers using xG and data to drive recruitment. Fantastic success story.

I know this is been discussed on the transfer thread but Williams saga just adds to the overall negative malaise I predicted this summer.

From an offering salaries perspective we are well well behind those other clubs Salford gills , Wrexham etc. Yet we have had record turn overs and still
Can’t compete I think Sparks himself in the radio Leeds interview said commercially at this level they isn’t much more they can do. So to bridge that gap why isn’t our owner willing to support?

What is the actually point of him? He’s clearly not investing, as I understand it not taking money out or making on the club so again what is the point.

I see Hughes off sooner than even I predicted as he will want to bring in quality and we just can’t compete. We are not a big club, we are middle of the road league 2 team and with Rupp at the helm that is not changing.

Sponsored by an owner who is quite happy at running / owning a multimillion £ betting online company ,I believe. .

Er we outbid Wrexham so that tears your argument in knots. Next? We were outbid by Gillingham. There is always a post, a tweet.

Apologies if I'm wrong Kevin, but I thought it was the Brighton owner Tony Bloom who had the betting company, and used their staff to do programmes aimed at scouring the world for up and coming players.

Brentford is owned by a lifelong Brenford fan Matty Benham who made his money from football analytics rather than online betting per se. He provides online analytics on all kinds of sport to those who want to bet with the best info. He used that approach to identify under valued, good qualty players He is also football mad and owns a club in Denmark where he trialed the use of analytics first and they were promoted to the Danish premier league and have been premiership champions 3 times in the last 6 years. He is no fly by night owner but has instead ploughed more than £100m of his own dosh into Brentford .. and got most of it back from his own endeavours. Oh for an owner like that with that kind of vision.
