First signing is in, Clarke Odour from Barnsley. Was a winger, seems to play more wing back over the last few years. Plays both wings. Very utility type, was on loan at Hartlepool this season.

bit bizarre handing out three years to a lad who couldn’t start for struggling Hartlepool.

let’s hope he turns out better than Timi Osudina has proven……

 

I’ll reserve judgement but any player who is part of a relegated side and has been released by their club is a bit underwhelming.

Good luck to the lad, 3 years it way ott imo unless it’s someone like Cook who’s had a stand out season and is proven.

 

Left wing back, but can play any side and even more forward to winger if needed. Fits the bill of players who can be flexible.

Wouldn't judge at all from his Hartlepool loan, was only there until January and joined on deadline day in the summer.

 

Goodness me - another 3 year deal. Is this the only way we can get players to sign by offering longer contracts than anybody else?

Don’t know much about the lad but good luck. Let’s hope he’s more Wright than Nevers.

 

Definitely an area we needed looks to have pace and two footed. And with championship experience as with all judgement reserved but could be a good start. Plays for Kenya so may have to release him for tournaments

Bradford City AFC is delighted to announce the signing of Clarke Oduor, on a three-year deal, who becomes the club’s first new summer recruit.

The Kenyan international, who can operate as a winger, wing-back or full-back, arrives at the University of Bradford Stadium following his release from Barnsley, until the summer of 2026.

Having graduated from Leeds United’s academy in 2017, the 23-year-old moved to South Yorkshire in 2019, making a total of 57 appearances for the Tykes.

His goal against Brentford on the final day of the 2019/20 season secured Barnsley’s second-tier status for another year.

He turned out 14 times on loan for Hartlepool United last season, scoring in a 2-1 defeat at Swindon Town in October.

Checked out Hartlepool's results with Clarke in the side, not that bad considering how poor Hartlepool were.

Looks like they'd have stayed up with him as a regular.

Free transfer from Barnsley. 23 yo left back. That's got to be then for either Foulds or Ridehalgh.

All those comments fill me with absolute dread.

I remember getting pelters on here when making a similar comment when we signed Threlkeld but very rarely does a "utility" player ever make the required grade.

 

Won't be the last time you see them either I reckon. Sounds like we want guys who can play a few positions for a few systems.
