They’ve set the bar with that performance and effort from every player.
Anything less than that in future games is not acceptable

Fair do’s to the money men , that was the best game I’ve seen at VP for a long time. It could have been 6-5 easy. The transformation especially in the first half was excellent.

Scraped is a tad strong! Under pressure from the 11 and the ref for sure but hardly scraped!

Very pleased for Abo Eisa to score with his first touch of the ball. It must have seemed a long road back to fitness for him.

The results elsewhere seemed to all fall in our favour too.

Northampton have to naughty games coming up
    Orient at home
    Salford away

lose both of them and we win against Rochdale we could be a point behind with a game on hand :)

just hope Stevenage go on a bad run would be nice if there was two teams to aim for ............Orient I think will be to much of a gap

A cracking game with lots of good performances across the pitch. In the last 2 games, Hughes has done exactly what was needed in terms of tweaking our game to be a little more direct and physical. Including Oliver over Cook has helped too, as he's a better target man and helps us get up the pitch more aggressively.

An excellent win - they've all worked hard for those 3 points and it'll feel very sweet, as Salford are a decent side.

Andy Cook Andy Cook Andy Andy Cook he wins the ball and makes a goal (in this case the winner) Andy Andy Cook.

Well if you went today and weren't entertained your watching the wrong sport, credit to Salford for trying to win the game, what a class act the lad McAleny is he gave the lad Halliday a real hard time today but the kid stuck at it, our two CD dealt with Smiths areal threat so well, Sutton once again closing down and making space for Smallwood and Gilliead to do their bit, Oliver was a constant threat as was MOTM Wright although once again in my opinion Critchlow must have been close, thoroughly enjoyed todays game even though Salford put us under pressure after Eisa
had put us in front for the third time.

Very entertaining game and a deserved win for us. Thought we started a bit slow but from 1-1 onwards we were the better side and played some really good stuff. Really refreshing to see us play aggressively and on the front foot at home.

Squad showed its quality more so today than ever. Oliver who has been a backup most of the season creates (or scores) the first, definitely scores the second and then Cook comes on to set up Eisa to score the third. In comparison, Salford didn't even make a change and don't have the quality in reserve.

Slight gripe was our game management/time-wasting or lack of it, nearly cost us at the end. Got to slow games down and take the sting out of it much better than today.

Overall, good win and performance which was important given results elsewhere.

    Excellent win!

Salford came and showed great spirit fighting back a couple of times, but we would not be denied - I have a feeling if they'd made it 3-3 we might still have won.

This character from our lads is superb, and I'm delighted Hughes has turned it round (fairly) quickly, I've got full confidence in him and while the mini-blip seemed to last forever with all the postponements and stuff, you can't deny we have a good, solid squad here with some real players.

Smallwood unlucky to hit the bar, Walker could have scored after a superb 1-2 with Wright, that was class!

Can't even bemoan Salford's efforts, either, but they got what a club from Manchester bringing 222 deserve - nothing!

Let's all laugh at Watt, players like him going to non-clubs skew the lower leagues and make it about money. Delighted to see him lose.

Good points. The changes from the bench today were the first real occasion I can remember this season where we've used the bench to tip a tough game against decent opponents, in our favour. And we were a bit ragged at the end, but I'll live with that as the manner of the performance was generally more purposeful and front footed than we've seen all season. Long may that continue.

    Quite agree Bantam2708

It's amazing how we can faff around at the back normally, then when it is really needed we keep launching it upfield and give back possession.
That last 10 minutes was a nightmare to watch, also not sure where 5 minutes stoppage time came from.

Best we’ve played in several seasons, particularly first half. Impressed with McAleny, shame we didn’t get him when he left Oldham as we were in for him apparently

Onwards and upwards, only half way through the season, and with the top 3 bound to start dropping points (IMO) then who knows what lies ahead
