Also holds the record for ex City strikers for games played and not scored.

Had "presence" and defended well at set pieces in all the games though.

On the bench for Boston today against York. Don’t think he came on. York won 2-0 to get promoted to the National League.

Yeah that would probably be a decent move for him. Did I read somewhere he also has a job around being a semi pro footballer now?

James has moved on and has set his sights much higher than stacking shelves. He wants to be the man to deliver the stock for someone else to stack. Don't knock ambition.

Hanson is a funny one with us City fans. I don't get it.

Ok, when here you can question can we get better? Question him at time when the club was on the up but now the football club has gone backwards and we are not at any dizzy heights you start to understand how the likes of Hanson, Darby, Jones were special for this club. Surely?

Hanson in my mind was played far far too much by Parky. Times we were 3-0 up and Hanson was still on the pitch busting a his balls for the club when he should have been rested.

I don't see way the hate towards him. If he wants to become a Lorry driver then fine. I for one wish him the best luck in life and I must have given it out to him loads while he was here but I got it wrong and happy to admit that.

Our team would have killed for a Hanson, Darby or Jones over recent years.

I dont think anybody hated Hanson,he was just so frustrating. He scored many important goals, but the most regular cry from around where i sat,was "how did he miss that".He really should have finished his City career with a cartload more goals.

Used to always see him on the roulette machines in the bookies around Eccleshill/Idle when he played for us and Sheff Utd. Used to spend a fortune on them by all accounts. Was also seen out on the p!ss quite a lot.

Of course he is entitled to do what he likes, but it does make one wonder whether his professional EFL career would have had more longevity and productivity to it had be took his profession a bit more seriously.

His professional career was not helped by Phil Parkinson and his medical people, rarely did he enter the field without having an injection in his back.
Parky quoting a 70% fit James Hanson would be one of the first names on his starting 11 team sheet, rarely was he 100% during his time under Parky.
