I never heard the announcement for MOTM but for me Walker was very good, having said that I believe until Asante had a rush of blood Salford looked comfortable on the ball, but you can only beat what's in front of you, can we believe this could be the beginning of a winning run/.

Walker is quality - and a proper hard worker. He was all over the pitch throughout, backing up, covering, putting in tackles. One swallow doesn't make a summer, but he looked good today.

Once we took the lead for some reason the lad King in the Salford goal started rushing his dead ball kicks etc, love it when the situation comes back and bites you in the arse when times running out.

Let's not get carried away. We've just beaten a very average Gary Bowyer side down to 10 men with a late goal. If it wasn't for the sending off I doubt we'd have won. Can tell Jamie Walker has played at a better level, his all round game is far better than league 2.

Angol is absolutely useless up front.

Decent on the wing, given he's only any good with his feet, but up front when he's got to use his frame and win headers, you might as well put a head on a stick.

    Garbage.

Paudie today was ten times the threat that Angol was. Glad he got his goal, too, after missing a sitter.

Think we would have been in big bother 11v 11 but it’s a must needed win ........ a loss today would have seen us 9 points off ......

I agree. Angol has great feet, and can hold the ball up well, but his positioning and movement show why he's a League Two striker. With Walker in the team, we want a striker who is direct and a)makes runs beating the offside trap, and b) follows up everything in the six yard area. Angol doesn't do that, and to be honest, neither does Cook. What Cook is good at, is getting into the right areas and anticipating chances. Angol no.

Angol is not a centre forward, He knows that and you can tell he hates it, Now if only Adams can realise that.
The team was quite near the right one we should have played and won more comfortable but a sending off helped to the win even if the late changes weakened us and gave Salford some hope, ( The late fantastic save from Hornby saved the win )

Not sure if Adams will see it that way but Sutton made a big difference even though Salford were down to 10, just hearing Radio Leeds presenter saying Adams is hoping Threlkeld I'm with you I hope he's wrong.

I said at the start of the season that Angol is not a natural target man. He's much better on the left, cutting inside.

I thought he was poor today. Seems very slow to react as a was evident with the chance form Canavan flick in the second half.

Not getting carried away at all, just pointing out the bleeding obvious that some of us have been saying before the season even started. This league is poor, we've failed to take all 3 points against some very average teams because we've been missing a bit of quality. If the club are serious about promotion being the aim this season they need to prove it with a little bit of investment in the squad this month. It might cost a bit more than they wanted to spend, but it will cost them a lot more if they don't invest now and we end up in league 2 for another season.
