    Was it really?

Honestly, McLaughlin, Williams, Duke, Doyle, have all been a blur. They could be the same keeper for me.

How anyone can make ludicrous comments about one or all of them being poor is beyond me.

They've all been reasonable. They're all League One quality, even if some competed above or below for a season or two.

Think Doyle did 18 out of 44 games first season.

All you name are pretty much run of the mill lower league keepers. When a keeper comes along who is decent, they stand out like a sore thumb, Pickford for example. As obvious as it gets he would go on to the highest level, although some on here questioned that.

    Doubt it.

'Here' didn't even exist back then ;)

But seriously, Pickford *at first* looked nervy and made a few mistakes. That's sink or swim time, depending how mentally strong you are. Pickford has proven himself extremely strong mentally, and extremely talented. He could potentially have struggled.

Like, we're not going to sign a Pickford on a permanent, even signing all these kids like we are now. It was pretty obvious when we brought him in that his reputation alone made him inaccessible.

I'll be interested to see where we turn now, but I'd be happy with someone along the lines of those other keepers. If some aren't happy with standard League One fare, I wonder what they honestly expect. Being happy to let Doyle go is strange. We are far more likely to find someone inferior than superior; that's why a similar ability will be satisfactory. Let's just hope we're paying less, because that's the only reason for a switch IMO.

Agree with everything in this post Jon. Pickford was outstanding, very obvious he was a class act.

I reckon we will be looking at a youngster being released from the PL, or maybe 2.

I expect we will have someone growing into the role, rather than an experienced keeper this season.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn’t Pickford get sent off twice whilst playing for City? He grew as he stayed and played. I always felt he had potential but am surprised at how far he has managed to go, in such a short time.

Absolutely ridiculous statement. He’s saved way, way more points than he has cost.

Name me just 5 clear goalkeeping errors that cost us points.

    Maybe you’re expecting too much?

    It certainly was

Most clean-sheets by one player in a single season: 27 by Ben Williams (2015/2016)

First you were telling us that it was a time issue I.e the amount of time he was taking to sign his contract and now it's a money issue and "that's all there is to it?" You haven't a clue have you? Make your mind up.

I think those fuming over Doyle and the expectation over a kid replacing him should send a full and frank apology to Mr Rahic.

Or they still grovelling around Mrs Doyle???

Mark Shwartzer looked another class from the first game. How he ever ended up at City is a mystery.

We did like Carlisle did with Wyke. We agreed a deal that gave him a chance of first team football in England with a fixed price that he could leave for.

Comparing him with lower league standard players doesn’t mean he was rightly replaced

Make Kammy our overseas coach, as you say very good commanding keeper from day one, Man City had him on trial I believe and didnt fancy him.

Yes it was Kammy who brought the lad Schwarzer in during his spell as manager.
