In my book this is a demanding and importantly vital position to fill.We surely need someone who can build on the work James did and more. We need proven expertise in media, a good understanding of the sport and a portfolio of suitable contacts with a view to increasing income and sponsorships from the off. I really expected our owners to put more emphasis on this side of affairs, but I think we need to progress this business far far more and with urgency.We need to re-energise the Brand and step up to drive the commercial aspect forwards. Effectively, we need a top class applicant to increase our potential and take us to the next level imo.

There's been a lot of talk recently about consortia and comrade Rahic has been very quiet at the same time. Improbable but not impossible.

If they can't get the coach appointment right (surely the most important position) I really struggle to believe they will do any better with any other recruitment. Does it really matter anyway if the football side turns to sh1t? You could have Richard Branson in charge and it wouldn't make any difference.

 

They are not going to pump in millions, so it is vital to increase revenues by all means possible.Therefore, surely the need is for someone well qualified...What happens on the pitch is down to getting the best out of the players and again, we are relying on building from youth. Remember this is a complete restructure and how can anyone judge a strategy from scratch before all the pieces are in place? Like it or not, money is an issue and prudence the buzz word..I would love otherwise, but we have what we have and if the guys around them buy into the overall plan and new recruits do, it's down to performance and development.
