Heard it could be Nigel Adkins with Les turnbull as the new head of recruitment. I really hope not as Adkins been out the game too long and not don’t great wherever he has been recently.

As for McCall it had to happen. Not a manager sadly and sold short on this squad.

 

All the new manager has to do is prevent us from dropping down a league and he will be seen as a great success!!

I guess there was not much option left, I’m absolutely gutted for Stu that his times of management at City haven’t brought the success he so obviously wanted for the club, the fans and the City. The fact it didn’t work out in no way lessens my view of him, all the best Stu. I certainly take no pleasure from the news, in my opinion we have more fundamental issues that start from the top down. The club’s a mess and you can easily argue the club has been on a downward trajectory since our current owner came in. We were unlucky with the millwall PO final, fine margins, but since that it’s been crap.

Pretty much agree with all that. I saw his debut for City and all the glory years after that. IMHO the most accomplished player to wear a city shirt that I have witnessed.
Really sad day for him as you could hear the frustration in his voice yesterday. I bet he has already blocked DMH and BRE on his phone.

Whoever it is I hope they demand a full review of the back room and are allowed to bring in everyone they need from the word go. None of this no assistant manager to save money or realising 6 months into someone’s time here we need a head of recruitment. Let’s do it right for once

Not an obsession we need to get out from where we are Parky is out of job at the moment knows the club and whilst he is probably destined for better things he might be interested till the end of the season. It makes sense

 

An interesting thought though - are we right to assume the recruitment thing is still moving forwards?

Good opportunity for the club to set up a more structured approach to scouting/recruitment.

The part of the past that was Worth looking back on was that era. He is a proven manager at this level he would be the perfect temporary fit

 

That's good but its a tough decision.

Sparks was right when he talked about the club needing an identity and this is a chance to start that road of identity.

I think I would be tempted to go with a young manager(a player just retired that has a profile) and a DOF.

 

For me we have to. We have to stop this a manager goes and club falls apart. We need a solid structure off the pitch and the manager is replaced if not working or they are poached.
That way we aren’t left rebuilding squad upon squad every summer it feels like now

 

Given there's a salary cap which I think means we will spend less on wages going forwards that we have done in the last few seasons then we should be able to invest more in scouting/conditioning/other backroom areas.

With a bit of thought we could show we have a bit of a plan going forwards. Ryan has the opportunity to show some leadership here and put things in the right direction.
