I very much doubt a team relegated from the Champioship would have 10+ players called up for international duty and therefore be unable to field a team. And if they can't then play the youngsters or whatever. I wouldn't need to be an overnight thing. It could come in in 2-3 years time to give teams the opportunity to build their squads accordingly

 

the days off midweek as you say are in leiu of working the weekend. They are not holidays. They still do a 5 day week each week during the season, so they do not count as holiday. I’m guessing your weekends off don’t come out of your holidays if you have worked Monday-Friday

as for your first point 20 plus 8 is 28 which is 5.6 weeks, so that would
Be something like 5.8( one day difference)

My understanding at the time was that Zimbabwe had already named their squad which didn’t include Galloway the Plymouth player as he was injured.
Galloway then came on as a late sub for Plymouth and this provoked Zimbabwe modifying their squad to include him at a very late stage.
Not sure how much comms there was between club and country but something was a bit suss.

 

What I will say is that there wasn’t rows and rows of empty seats like we see at our midweek fixtures.

 

Unless it was his call I don't understand how he's not been picked for the last 2 years.

Pleased for him as he deserves it but glad the next AFCON is next summer rather than midseason like it has been recently or we might have been losing him for a lot more.

It's a pity Kieran Morgan wasn't a few months younger or we could have asked Darren Moore to do us a favour and call him up for the u20s to get the Reading game postponed

ah, so it was probably that he was left out as he wasn’t fit but showed he was fit by playing so they added him when someone else dropped out injured. I think squads are size limited so countries can not just add people without someone else being cut

 

just remember we don’t want to sign and rely on good international players
