Theoretically, is GA going anywhere?

GA favourite for Preston job according to the T&A

 

I wouldn’t want Challinor here. I remember when we beat Stockport at VP and he threw his players under the bus. Far from gracious in defeat. Graham Alexander commands more respect IMO and is twice the man Challinor is.

There's a certain manager who's team, Walsall, is unbeaten in L2, great defensively and high intensity going forward.. maybe we do some poaching ourselves?

Mate I'm the most negative Twit on here when it's deserved it got to the point where we played Salford 1sr home game a couple of years ago and I simply didn't wanna go at that was just over 2 years ago to this now is a reet shift now don't get me wrong we want more attacking football we would love to see loads of goals but this way has worked .............this way has seen us go from a basketcase with a toxic atmosphere to seeing what we are viewing now ...........a good solid set up with a fanbase behind it so he'll of a lot to be positive than negative

Not very much support for Alexander among Preston fans (about 10% max). It would be strange appointment given his lack of championship experience. Nor is their squad equipped to play as he likes to. also likely to be appointment to end of season only with new ownership negotiations. Likely therefore to be someone currently available.

 

I mean they want Carlos Corberan.... so i'm not sure their fans are realistic.

 

He is ex-Preston as a player and that's kind of it.

He would be a coin toss against Challinor, and Challinor is actually available. But I wouldn't expect them to pick Challinor over Michael O'Neill or Rob Edwards, why would they?

Not sure how likely Preston are to look aboard, but it's the Championship and certainly not implausible.

I think GA will be in a discussion - but to me he looks kind of easy to rule out.

 

Without the Preston connection, I don’t think GA would get a mention

 

I generally think GA is very happy at City and he probably thinks his job here isn't finished. He's building something here from scratch and he's been successful and I feel he wants to get out of this league and build a squad that can compete well in the championship, and that will be his first rodeo in the championship with us hopefully.

 

And all of that would make complete sense if not for the vastly improved salary he'd be on, a greater budget for player recruitment, a club he has a connection with at a location much closer to his family home. Having said this I do think Preston will be looking for a manager with proven Championship experience so don't think this will ever become an issue but if offered the opportunity I'd be astounded if he turned it down.

 

If offered and turned down, he would reach instant idol worship

I should have checked which accounts were posting. On closer inspection, at least one of them is a complete WUM.
