It’s you who made a sarcastic jibe saying you’d think he was on the verge of an international call-up and when it’s pointed out he is you says it’s not as impressive as you make out. Do you actually think what you’re saying before posting or does it just come naturally to you?

 

I believe on signing Beesley Alexander made that exact comment about being a player who could sustain the press and give defender a hard time.

 

Come on now, let's not start being childish. Nobody has said anything remotely similar to that. Beesley looks a very good player and I'm looking forward to seeing him get better and better.

 

Beesley isn’t a 20/30 goal a season he never was but he is everything you need from a team player high work rate presses well holds the ball up pulls players out of position leaving space for other. A big feature of our team is what we do of the ball and he is the perfect fit for us

 

One game in never get that some can base on what's gonna happen over 1 game ...... ....still regarding Jackson it's the City way to have someone to boo the crapout of

 

Like I've said I'd be more than happy if he goes all season with only a handful of goals as long as he's contributing to our attacking output. I think he was a 6.5/10 on Saturday. Some seem to have him at an 8+.

 

Decent performance against a poor team. Liked the look of the attacking options off the bench. I think we need to start at least one of Pointon or Phillips in the front three, as we lacked someone to link up the play in the first half. We looked better with more ball players on the pitch in Pointon and Phillips in the second half.

Still not convinced by the CM pairing. Against weaker opposition I think it’s probably fine but considering how poor Peterborough were there were some pretty long spells where it was like a basketball game. I fear better teams would overrun us. Not to bang on about the past but Power and Metcalfe would have bossed that game and controlled it from minute one.

 

Never underestimate those players who keep moves going.

The best sides loaded their teams with those types.

 

I was just about to post something very similar.

He was a right pain in the arris for their defender who had to grapple and fight for literally every ball that came Beesleys way. Most of the time if he went down so did the defender.

I liked his work rate and ability to bring others into play. The long ball to Beesley is now no longer a "hit and hope" for me more of a lets get our men in and around him and pick up the pieces from there, which we did on multiple occasions. Pointon seemed to relish this as his performance was top drawer.

He made some nice layoffs and also held the ball well.

If he plays like that every week he will create a ton of chances for the rest of the team. We all like a 20+ goals a season striker for sure, but one that helps the team score more as well and contributes is a real gem for me.

In fact the whole team now have a bit of bite right across the park. I think GA has got the squad about spot on for how we want to play. How many times when they broke through the middle did we do our best to stop them in any way we could. Sarc had a few bites at one or two as well.

No he won't play like that every week but I am glad he is wearing Claret and Amber.

 

Yeah.. it's a shame we didn't boss and control the game.... whatever were we thinking of letting them go?

Opinions differ but man of the match for me.

 

Right here goes. Tin hat at the ready! I thought Pointon did well when he came on and I don't doubt that he will be a key player for us this season and beyond. But I do think his lack of pace and a weak right foot means that if he is to ever play in the Championship it will be with us...and I do genuinely hope it happens.

 

He may not have pace, but he has bags of skill and can find space readily. One piece of skill brought an audible gasp from supporters.
I was astonished that Parker only gave him a score of 6.5 when he deemed Jackson worthy of a 6.

 

I think that was his audacious pirouette - where he then went on to lose the ball. There was a couple of occasions where his fast feet made him space but he couldn't get away. Another time he was running left to right across the edge of the box, it was screaming for a shot but he was on his right foot. He has other talents too, especially the knack of arriving in the box at just the right time, but I still think league one will be his level. More than happy for him to prove me wrong. Hopefully with us but if not earning us a big transfer fee.

 

So if we somehow managed to get promoted this season, you would be looking for us to get rid of Pointon then because you think his level is league 1?

 

We might find that all our players are league one level! We'll have to keep some of them
