I think he was furious when one of their players wasn't booked for a foul on him. After that he lost control of his emotions and became extremely petulant. We were lucky not to go down to 10 men. As an experienced professional it was poor from Jackson.

 

He was yes, and like you say, he should know better than to let that affect the rest of his game but it's not the first time he's come across as petulant.

 

A second yellow when he left his foot in would have been soft but a different ref on a different day would have sent him off and that could have turned the game.
Aside from that he had a generally poor game, and that may have contributed towards him losing the plot in the 2nd half.

 

Quite right.. we got 45 crosses into the box(11 for Posh).. if we can continue to pepper the box with quality balls the goals will come from Beesley or from his knockdowns, and from Powell's poaching instinct. Throw in the qualities of Phillips, Bobby and Sarce and we have a great attacking unit.

Imagine a scenario where everyone single time he posts, he gets absolutely no reaction whatsoever. I really hope we get to that point. It's literally the only reason he does it.

 

I think Powell is like a secret weapon GA brings on. Beesley was really good, hopefully the goals will come far too soon to make a full assessment of him. Goals plus his work rate will be immense.
Powell is a joy to watch very skilled player. You can see he has influence with the team including Bobby who was also very good when he came on.

 

Yes, I saw that. He definitely saw the Lino’s flag go up so didn’t bother running for the ball.
He got caught offside too many times for an experienced player playing out wide where he should be able to look across the line. He had a very poor game overall.

 

That’s why your comments have surprised me as you’re one of the people who talks more than just simple statistics such as goals. He showed exactly what we missed last season and the backline was all over the place at times, it’s no coincidence that in the first two competitive games of the season we’ve had more possession than the other team and played mainly in their half unlike last season. When he went off I felt we were pushed back more for the last 10/15 minutes despite scoring a lovely goal and should have really conceded if not for a great bit of thinking by John.

Personally I think you’re in a small minority here. Another sign was often what people are saying around me doesn’t match up with what is said on here or X, but everyone was waxing lyrical about him.

Fair enough, I didn't notice he was but makes sense actually as there were a few times before that where he was caught in an offside position, which is not a good look for a player of his experience.

Im struggling to understand what Jackson brings to the team. He has pace, but its not really something we can utilise as our right flank gets doubled up on as our left flank is ineffective unless Wright & Pointon are playing, and teams know that

Isn't really that good in the air and his technical ability leaves a lot to be desired. he can score a goal here an there but isn't a striker. I think if it wasn't for the fact that he came in during January, as opposed to last summer, most would be placing him in the same bracket as Humphrys

 

Cannot really moan first games are always ropey .............see where we are come October but one bonus is that we look like a solid side ................as for Beesley needs a goal and then see what happens.
