I'm on nights tonight and tomorrow night so not sure if I'll be able to make it, hence the lack of excitement. I have the time but sleep is a rare commodity in these temperatures ATM.
If I wasn't working I'd definitely be there and I'm sure the excitement levels would be higher.

 

I felt flat before the Rochdale game, tbh I was worn out with it by the playoffs and wasn’t overly bothered when we got knocked out but thought it was probably because we overachieved and would have struggled above. I think part of it is also the World Cup, I couldn’t be bothered with it but felt obliged to watch. There is definitely such a thing as football burnout and nowadays there’s a game every day and you barely get a summer off. That said I really enjoyed being back at the old girl last week and same again tomorrow. Let’s hope for a repeat score line.

They are normally out in force for cup games and Tuesday night games but I’m sure some will show themselves tomorrow.


If you can provide some reason why your life doesn’t revolve around a game of football then they may forgive you this time

Lunn & Ibbotson obviously and then I'd suggest either J.Wright or Welch. With Touray also on the bench you don't need 3 players that can all play CB.

 

The ones that have questioned why Langstaff would sign for Salford when they play infront of 1500 fans. Really odd group who think attendances means anything.

There is such a thing as burnout. I spoke to my grandson the other day and he is working but could have probably have got the time off, but he says he has gone off football in general thanks to the WC, he thinks it is corrupt. This is a lad of 23 who has been going since he was 4. I reassured him it will return.

It happened to me for a few years, I’d stopped going with family and couldn’t be bothered. It returned when i started going with friends but if not for that I’d probably not have bothered as it was the days out we spent together as much as anything. But the love of the 90 minutes did come back. I agree about the WC, personally I think it’s crap and all the bandwagon jumpers almost makes me want England to lose. In the crowd it’s mainly people on their phones ‘making content’, the passion has gone out of international football for me, I had no reaction when England lost to Argentina. And it can definitely have a knock on effect to watching domestic games.

 

He’ll have to play better than last week then against a pretty poor side. I thought it was one of his worst games the first 60 minutes but once we pinned them back he did improve and nearly got an assist.

 

Getting in the groove eh. Whole team was shite that first 20 mins. Then we took control and 2nd half a cake walk.
