    Yesterday the Czech FA President was backing the plan. Wonder what they were offered by UEFA to change their mind

    Apparently Concacaf are not happy with Infantino’s plan either. They are meeting later today to discuss it. Let’s hope they have the balls to vote for a boycott too.
    If Europe and South America both vote to boycott FIFA competitions the plan surely has to be dead in the water. Apparently some Asian FAs aren’t happy with it either.

    Concacaf is North America. I think CONMEBOL (South America) will stay quiet for now to see what happens as they want Infantino onside to try to push through 2030 World Cup to be 64 teams so Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay can get more than 1 game each.

    I can see this become on big game of Poker with neither side wanting to back down. Infantino is basically blackmailing every country by saying if you don't vote for it you won't get the $40mil. There are a few big tests coming up for UEFA on the Women's Side with U20 World Cup in Poland starting 5th September with 6 UEFA teams in it then early October is the play offs for the Women's World Cup with England, Norway and Netherlands in it and FIFA will not want them missing out especially England. Next big test after that if it is still going ahead is PSG in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup as without a UEFA representative there is no tournament.
    Infantino has really messed this one up as before this it looked likely he was going to get the vast majority of votes to get a 4th term and this could cost him his place.

    As well as the Asian and Concacaf opposition, one of Infantino’s closest advisors, who is a big noise in the banking world with Goldman Sachs, has resigned in protest over the issue.

    FIFA (aka Infantino) issued a statement at 4am this morning blaming the media for misreporting his plans and thereby sowing distrust and confusion. He can hardly hold that line now that one of his closest allies - a man with far more economic nous and experience than him - has scathingly criticised the plan on both ethical and business grounds.

    Infantino’s plan - and his position of FIFA President - are looking increasingly shaky.
