BBC Sheffield sports reporter has tweeted this aft that the deal is expected to be done in no time. Sounds like Rovers will be happy to see the back of him, apparently he has a very vocal and overbearing dad online.

 

4-2-3-1 does make sense

Cartwright and Connolly as the holding DMs
Sarc/Phillips in the hole behind the striker
Pointon/Humphrys on the left
Jackson/Lapslie on the right

still think the DM role needs seriously strengthening. My issue with Connolly isnt that hes a defender by trade, but that he’s injury prone. As we saw last season

 

Feels like we have too much talent at the top end of the pitch to not try it at some stage. Only issue is we dont have proper full backs at the club at the min. Touray is far more a full back than a wing back in my eyes. Looks like Gillesphey has dabbled at left back and came through the Newcastle as a left back then moved into LCB. The right side is the big gap though. Neufville wouldn't be a natural full back and there's no other backup. I think Baldwin shifted there at the end of last season didn't he when we tried moving to a 4? Looks like Pennington has covered the odd game at right back in a back four a few times in his career.

 

I think Donny will have a good season providing Bailey and Gott stay

They've got rid of Gibson and his dad so they were short in that department.

 

Looks like a new signing has landed in Austria. Either that or Humps has arrived late.

 

New PFA lot for the week.



Sam Morsy is now training with the PFA as well as Alfie McCalmont. Morsy is well known, McCalmont is from the Leeds academy, did well for Carlisle before moving onto Australia for the last few years. Both DM/CMs who will be looking for L1 moves.

 

McCalmont looks a very good shout

 

Surprised Morsy hasnt been snapped up.

McAlmont did well at Carlisle, but is league 2 his level?

I think GA is now waiting for a couple of loan targets to be made available and maybe 1 more free agent to bolster numbers?

 

Surprised Morsey is in that list, worth a 1 year punt ?

 

I knew I'd heard/read something about us enquiring about him. Maybe he might have to think about lowering his demands a bit.

 

That's why he still doesn't have a club then!!

 

McCalmont's had a very unimpressive list of clubs so far, but I guess that doesn't always tell the full story.

Not convinced about the A-League, either, but I'd give him a chance.

 

I think we should but a cheeky bid in for McCalmont and the Stevenage player, Dan Butler.
