I think they are probably waiting for loans to be released and it doesn’t harm to give players a chance to impress.we did sign six early on. And I am confident they will either have a couple of loans lined up or maybe they are waiting to see if players are released

Beesley scores enough? Is 13 goals what we are expecting or happy with next term?

He has never been prolific but he always gets his quota and contributes in other ways. The amount he needs to score depends on how the goals are going to be spread around. As others have pointed out top scorers cost money we dontbhave

Today's the first day that Premier League clubs are playing pre-season matches and the teams they are playing is showing why the loan market this summer is very slow and realistically won't pick up until the EFL season starts when the PL clubs get their World Cup players back. Just watching Man Utd vs Wrexham and Wheatley has come on at half time for Man Utd, Adaramola has been linked with moves away from Palace but he started today.
If teams are prepared to be patient for another 3 or 4 weeks to get the young loans then it could be massive for them but that means possibly sacrificing a bit of the start of the season whilst you wait for them to become available.

Sounds like Donny are one of the clubs in for Hutchinson. In their presser today they've confirmed they have accepted bids from two L1 clubs for him

Accepted bids from 2 clubs? What are they going to do, have him alternate weeks?

If Rovers sell him to Donny we should punish them by recalling Leigh!

    Hmm?.. on second thoughts:unsure:

That would contrast with GA in the last two seasons though where we've hardly had loans in the first half of the season.

True... but he may try and emulate what Bolton did. It was loans that essentially got them promoted.

What if he's instrumental in a healthy goals for column next season by contributing to a successful attack? Let's say he's laying on chance after chance for other attackers who benefit and we get 4 or 5 players in double figures. Would that not be a favourable outcome?

But how many chances were Burton creating for him? I would hope that we’ll be creating significantly more, so his goal quota may go up accordingly.

Not sure Hutchinson would be a good signing for us. He is described as an attacking midfielder of which we have plenty and Bristol would rather have Leigh

Beesley had the 4th most shots in L1 last season (97), just 6 shots away from the highest in L1 last season.

However, he was ranked joint 100th for goals per shot and joint 118th for goals per shots on target. So he was having a hell of a lot of shots at Burton, but his finishing didn't match the tally ranks. It could be because the quality of the ball wasn't good enough and hopefully our attackers are of better quality? Or he's just not a great finisher? Bit of both? Suppose we'll know once we see enough of him in a City shirt.

That's about the sum total that Swan and Humphreys scored between them, and Beesley will be replacing them,so no actual gain.

That's why I'd never judge a striker on goals alone. James Hanson was a key player for a number of years yet he only got 15 goals in a season once.
Over the last couple of seasons we've had huge success despite not having a prolific no 9 as the team has been set up to work with a hard working striker with others contributing to the goals.
A bit of what we lacked last season was a more physical presence when backs are against the wall and we go long or when we're putting in the crosses which is what Beesley should bring

Hanson played in a 2 up top. He had Wells, then Clarke to share the load.

Jordan has presented the stats for Burton but he had spells at Blackpool and Rochdale in L1 - same questions can be asked.

Like I said, a decent addition to the forward line but im not convinced he is the answer. Humphrys and Swan both came last summer and we got the status quo from them.

    We need another IMO.
