Early dinner, beans on sourdough toast. Getting pick axe out and spending a few hours digging up Wild Blackberry bushes which are spreading across my back garden

Very nice indeed. No eagles thus far.

Quick eggs on toast and now to Hexham for the afternoon.

Regulars here include four crows, as many as six magpies, currently approx twenty plus starlings, robins including a pair in the front garden, the male of which is finger tame for mrs IB, a pair of blackbirds a few blue tits. Occasional visitors include parakeets, jackdaw and jays. Sadly we have pigeons who scare off the smaller birds, though a couple of bursts from the supersoaker proves a deterrent. Favourite for me is crows, clever buggers, missus is robins.

Any chance they might fruit soon? Be nice in your yogurts. Then hack them out after they've fruited?

I was lucky enough to find Staffordshire's first ever Bee-eater on my local patch, so it has to be up there amongst my favourites.

I did once get Kingfisher perch on my fishing rod whilst fishing on the Ouse at Landing Lane.

It was on there for a few minutes.
