    It is, but...

    Went on a stag do there in the mid 2000s. Bottom of the Ramblas we were swarmed by a massive group of pickpockets, maybe 30 of them. Lost my phone and a couple of lads lost their wallets.

    Couple of years later I went for the Liverpool Barcelona game, when Liverpool won 2-1. Saw a prostitute hit a bloke over the head with a mace just off the Ramblas. Didn't hang around after that!

    And bird sh4t on Mrs H when we were having a coffee.

    Been a few times when staying up coast a little, last time 2011 so I'm told. First time we started at the to off Ramblas watched an old geezer do a load of footie tricks, walked down to where the animal were sold, freaked mrs IB out they way they were being kept, so quit avoided it on subsequent visits.

    If you like Barcelona then I can recommend The Shadow of the Wind. Fiction but uses landmarks and areas around the city.

    Mrs bbb and I were in Barcelona for NYE in 2004.

    Very weird,intimidating atmosphere on Ramblas.
    Groups of pickpockets everywhere

    Didn’t stay long and saw in the new year back in our hotel.
