It was to be the next question but they had to finish answering about "buy your seat" and if McCracken was wearing the new keeper shirt first unfortunately.

 

They made it spund like someone has basically signed and will be announced soon. Probably why they let Tilt go as they said they suspected he may leave from about 3 weeks ago.

 

Surprised to see Harrison Male on that list.Was regular first choice for York for last two seasons.

 

Wasn't it Parky who insisted players had to move or live within travelling distance of the training facility? I don't recall anyone leaving a year into their contract during his time at the club. These types of players wanting to up sticks and leave are a distraction the club can do without. I suppose the older the player, the more likely they'll be fed up of travelling around. Maybe something Alexander wants to think about this time around.

 

I think McCall did it as well maybe other managers before him too but players had to live within an hour of the training ground if memory serves me correct

 

Wasn't sure whether it was Parky or McCall who publicly mentioned it.

 

Problem is Alexander himself lives well over the other side of the Pennines so the club can’t insist on it when the manager doesn’t even live close.

I reckon the replacement, or if not at least a new signing, is already done and was in training yesterday. But they are trying to spread out the news. Morning/lunch yesterday gave the Connolly deal time to breathe. Then it was Tilt and the forum, not really time to squeeze in anything fresh yesterday.

Wouldn't be surprised to see another name released today. Only think this as every single year without fail there's a "first day back" kinda video on social media but yesterday we had nothing at all. Just a guess, but maybe they arent showing any "back to training" footage yet because we haven't announced everyone who walked through the doors yesterday?

 

It's good to know we are actively looking to invest in 1 or 2 young prospects as we did with Metcalfe, I think it would be stupid to not go down this route. Sure, you can't have a full team of them, but a couple among the squad could help the club move forward if they pay off.
