Cardinal Hinsley and St Bede’s were the big two Catholic Senior schools. @Tennesseebantam@Tennesseebantam knows one of the guys I know. However the one that went to Hinsley will be in his late 70’s, but the others went to St Bede’s and one is a similar age. Ironically he now lives much further west than you in the Pembroke area.

BRI in 1979, grew up in Sandy Lane and spent most of my youth in Clayton.
Lived in Clayton and Queensbury before Halifax in more recent years for schooling reasons!

With the train connections is as easy to grab the train instead of drive these days - and that goes for most away games!

First game was Shrewsbury 0-0 at home but after City returned to VP. Feels like a slightly underwhelming representation of the next 39 years following City, but despite us spending a lot of years in the lower leagues, there've been some great memories and highs along the way

Promotion at Wolves, mini European cup run, numerous visits to Wembley, all enjoyable with the exception of Millwall, incredible nights at Forest, Chelsea, Villa not to mention home nights in the cup.

And then the promotion last year and over achievement this year

My biggest positives are knowing that I managed to coerce my kids into it who also now go to games (on their own of their own accord) and seeing the club grow and grow in the last 15 years or so

Born in Idle in 1972, lived there until my parents split when I was 3, first game was 1982 when the legend Bobby Campbell scored a belter in front of the Kop from memory vs Bournemouth. Was at the fateful day in 85 in the cowshed on Midland Road, a day never to be forgotten.

Born in the BRI in 1989, lived on Daisy Street, Great Horton then moved to Crescent Walk until I was 10. A short hop from Clayton up to Clayton Heights followed where my parents still live now.

First game was an away game I believe when I was about 3 years old, thanks to my Maternal Grandmother who was one of the many that applied for the 25 year Season Ticket during that mad period!

Went to Wembley with her in 1996 for the Notts County triumph following this I became a season ticket holder up until I was around 13-14 years old.

The Game Day program in my profile avatar is from the home game vs Chelsea when we beat them 2-1 on my birthday, a bloody brilliant way to celebrate!

I got my season ticket back when I was about 18-19 years old when I started going to games with my mate from work.

This soon stopped as I joined the RAF in 2010 where I have moved to places near Alnwick, Northumberland, Brampton, Cumbria, Scampton, Lincolnshire, Aldergrove, Northern Ireland and now back settled in Waddington, Lincolnshire.

I did managed to make it to Wembley for the League Cup Final and the Millwall Play-Off Final games. Tar me with the same brush as those from the Second West, I dare you! I watched the Aston Villa games on that run to the League Cup Final whilst deployed in Oman. Explaining to aircrew why you're crying tears of joy just after midnight was funny looking back on it now.

I'm itching to get back to a game or two this coming season but now having a young family my hands can be tied at a weekend and visits back home almost always tie in with an away game! Better planning is required!

Born '82 in Bradford (Thornbury, BD3) to Irish parents, family moved back to Ireland in '93. Got Interested In city by following results from the paper, the tiny little column they'd dedicate for lower league results. I thought Bradford sounded exotic.

First game was promotion year, home to Grimsby then Portsmouth midweek. 2 wins. I remember Portsmouth fans singing Day Dream Believer to us. I saw Beagrie score and do his flip. The Kop was being rebuilt/expanded. I bought my first City Gent mag and the pink. How couldn't you fall in love with it all.

Best goal I saw was Beni Carbone overhead kick v Barnsley the season after we got relegated

Born in Bradford in May 62 and my dad stull tells me it snowed that day. First game i cannot remember pre 76 but remember the cup run of 76. Went to all rounds except Norwich match . We were booked but weather put a stp to that. Went to Colchester game that cup run and ended up in the back room of a pub somwhere in London . My dad and his compatriots had some hassle from a woman in pub and one of the lads from minibus pissed through her letterbox fner fner. Beyond Villa and Chelsea and Wolves et al one of the most memorable games was at home against Stockport 79. It was the shittest night ever. Weather wasl mental and game would not be played nowadays. About a dozen Stockport supporters stormed the pitch and tried to take the city end. City went 1 down but came back to score 6 with Peter Downsborough scoring from the Kop end. Proper football.
