Summer 26 Transfer Rumours

Ignoring his saves as any keeper can have a few good saves but his kicking off the floor is much better than Walker's. He has good command of his penalty area as well.

At 25 he could be a long term number one if he does well.

 

Most of our keepers in the past, the ones out of the blue, with no prior knowledge of their clubs & form have usually worked out. Even Walker didn't play many games as a number 1 before he came here, barring Kilmarnock & Colchester.

We want competition so Sam picks up his game. We don’t want a keeper who is an automatic choice

 

We want a keeper to replace Walker who is gonna be out of contract in 12 months time and 36.
Not a prayer a new keeper who is 1st choice at his present club comes in to be number 2 to a keeper who is winding down.

 

I suspect it may come down to him or the recruitment "team" preferring we have our own players.

Great to have a loan keeper in but he plays well, we get promoted and then he leaves.

McCracken, you would hope, would be able to play at Championship level so if we did go up it would not require a new keeper coming in and getting used to our defensive set-up and way of playing.

 

More rumour with regard the kid from Sunderland :

Young has turned down Huddersfield because we have offered him more guaranteed game time as number 1 over Walker
Will Huddersfield increase their offer and offer him more game time than they originally told him ?.

 

Yep, Walker has been decent for us but he isn't going to get any better whereas McCracken at 26 still has time to improve and come into his prime.

 

Well, this is an unexpected turn.

 

The problem we may be missing, Sam won’t improve . It’s that basic for me Park .

 

I would take an experienced goalkeeper coming in over a young lad on loan.

 

Not really. They don’t have a decent history of loan keepers . Maybe Sunderland have seen this ?

 

Surely we arnt signing 2 keepers, if it’s a case of which one then rather have are own players than improve one for someone else. Save the loans for game changers

 

I meant for us, given it appears we've moved on to McCracken.

 

I suppose we have if they though the lad was going to the Town, so we went to plan B?

 

I don't believe it because;

1. They don't have a good number one. Why would they sign him and not play him?
2. I can't see GA guaranteeing anything on game time.
