    I was talking to a couple of reasonable Huddersfield fans at Headingley a couple of weeks ago and they said that Huddersfield have spent 180% of their income and could face a future points deduction.

    I would take all that with a pinch of salt to be fair. Their fans are massively entitled and the bloke was chronically misused.

    He's a goal scorer yet they very rarely played him up front.

    Oh no...how awful.

    Its not nice to hear of incompetent owners overspending and clubs been punished because ultimately its the fans that suffer.

    But for me, there are of course 2 or 3 exceptions to that. Im sure most on here can guess 2 of them and our friend @Interested Bystander@Interested Bystander may have an idea on number 3.

    I believe that’s one reason they spent massively on “ infrastructure “ to try and alleviate the over spending on the squad .Nagle improved his “ real estate “ portfolio as a by product?

    Seemingly he “ wouldn’t” press so played him in a deeper lying role , which as you say , isn’t what he does. I watched a few of their games and the ones he did play in he was largely anonymous , even coming on as a sub .

    That's true, but football isn't about 90 minutes exclusively, most of your time is spent preparing for games.

    Gotta have mental preparation too though - confidence is a big part of football, especially for strikers. I remember having a rough period in my life a decade or so ago and I struggled to get motivated for games (albeit Sunday league level). It sucks the life out of ya - stamina, speed, awareness. My game dropped dramatically.

    No pressure at my level but at professional level there is pressure x 1000. It's their job and the weight of expectations of paying fans - we are unforgiving. We saw Jake Reeves and Paul Taylor first hand a decade back.
