Well, here's me. Born 1952 in St Liuke's. Lived in Wyke for three years, no memory, then moved to Little Horton near the top of Canterbury Avenue. Went to St Oswald's Primary, all of us Avenue supporters. First went to City in the late 50s when taken by local vicar who was a Halifax Town fan. Became intrigued by the team on the other side of town. First league game a 0-1 defeat by Colchester in March 1961 I think. Hooked for ever. In 1963 won a free scholarship to Bradford Grammar School where I became acquainted for the first time with the middle class. One of my classmate's bedroom had a similar surface area to our entire house. Moved to Wibsey in 1962. Manchester University in 1970 then a post-grad year and a year working there. A few months on a kibbutz in Israel. Three years in London then working in Leeds from 1979 to 2012. Bought a house in Wibsey in 1979 then moved to Queensbury in 1996. Burley in Wharfedale since 2001. Lots of life, lots of playing sport (once offered a trial at Bury!) lots of relationships but the one constant has been a never-changing devotion to City. Season ticket since 1996. Now a grumpy old grandfather and loving it.

Interesting read that and similarities with my dad who was born 1946. Lived Hawes Rd and used to talk about being mates with Ian Cooper. Attended St Oswalds and BGS and a fan of PA and Yorkshire cricket both of which were just down the road.

Should have been a stan (Ave fan ) all my family from that side of the City.
First game 3-3 against Wigan 1983 ??? but not gonna count that as my dad missed most of the goals due to my weak bladder :(
So first proper game Sunderland home 1987 won 3-2 i mean what a game to really drag you into it ...........never saw us lose a game for months oh how easy it all seemed till Man City beat us 4-2 :(

St Oswald's was a Cof E school so we were encouraged to join the church choir next door which many of us did. Ian and Howard Cooper were part of the church and we even had a football team in which they both played. They went to Priestman school though. Not St Oswald's.

Makes sense, my dad said they used to play football on the Hawes Rd rec, but I wasn't aware they'd gone to different primary schools.

No I think they both went to Priestmans. Hawes rec was always Carrbottom Rec! What times we had there!
I remember being part of a conversation with Ian after his debut game. Despite all his previous experience he was staggered by the pace of the game.

Could be wrong but I think @AberBantam’s dad went to St. George’s in very late 60’s / early 70’’s. Same class as my big brother.

Born in St Lukes in 66. Brought up in BD3 area and my dad took me to my 1st game at the start of the 1974 season after I'd really started getting into football during the 74 World Cup. 1st game was v Scunthorpe - a 3-0 win with goals from Gerry Ingram (2) and Bobby Ham.
2nd season saw the big cup run, ended by the 'cheat' goal v Southampton. My dad stopped going in the early 80s as health deteriorated, but by then I was well hooked. Great cup games against Liverpool, Ipswich and Man U and then the McFarland season that stated the era of Progressivism- great memories!
Moved to Eccleshill in the late 80s, and then in 1999, just after promotion to the Prem, moved over the 'border' to Farsley. Lived in Morley since 2013.

St Luke’s 1973. Lived in Wrose. My old man is a Leeds fan. Took me to city and Leeds before I decided as I’m born in Bradford I should support them.
Then we moved to Glasgow. Then we moved to Cardiff. Then I moved to Burton, before moving to Tallinn where I’ve been since 2005. Watch on the box and in person whether I can. My 17 year old is also a fan. There’s one other city fan in Estonia.

And I grew up playing on Avondale road in Shipley with Malcolm's daughter Alison. Used to see Malcolm senior all the time. A real gent. Such a shame when he died too young from Parkinson's.
Malcolm junior was a few years older. Peter his brother was closer to my age.

Malcolm worked in the electricians dept at Crofts when I was an apprentice, we had some great laughs about his time at City, I kept reminding him of the game against Burnley in the FA Cup (who had a great side in those days) when the referee looked like he'd continue playing till Burnley scored, Malcolm had the ball on the edge of our box and thought he could clear it down the pitch instead of sticking it in row "Z" Malcolm got robed of the ball and John Connelly scored his second of the game.
The replay was the following Tuesday night the traffic was horrendous we were amongst the thousands locked out, we lost 5 - 0 on the night.
