Just to say all the contributions so far have been a great read.

I was born in Sloan Square East, it was my Uncle Jimmy’s flat. My gran was living with him and my Mum wanted a home delivery. At the time my family were living in a slum down Wakefield Road. When I was 2 we moved to brand new houses in Bierley Ferrand Avenue.

I was one of three girls and therefore my knowledge of football could be written on the back of a postage stamp. My Dad did like football though but didn’t attend either PA or VP.

The other half took me to VP on Boxing Day 1967 when I was 18. We beat Notts County 5-1. Loved every minute. We were irregular attenders after that as my family moved to Cardiff. I stayed here for awhile as we were engaged by this time.

we were married in 1969. We lived in Bingley, Crossflatts, and Halifax. We lived in Cardiff for 12 years and watched city when we could.

Our son enticed us back to city when we moved back home. His mate had taken him down to City and he had a great time. Our late daughter was also smitten and we all stood on the kop, and we have been going ever since. I also have two grandsons who attend home and away. My oldest grandson has just had the most gorgeous little girl you can imagine and no doubt she will be down there when she is old enough. His partner is also a City fan.

Born in 59 in Bradford. As a kid I was taken to a handful of games at Leeds and Huddersfield. Although I was football mad, I found it ok. I remember the moment I ‘found’ City. I had joined the Merchant Navy in 75. On board ship I was watching the football scores on BBC Grandstand in March 76. It was the week after the City v Southampton FA Cup q-f defeat. The sports presenter scoffed at the league attendance at VP compared to the sellout FA crowd the previous week.
I could n’t get my head around why so many ‘City’ fans would go to see the q-f but then not bother to go the following week. I thought they deserved better. It was at that moment that I thought the next time I’m in Bradford I’ll go down and show the club some support.

I left the Merchant Navy in the summer of 76. I went on my own to VP to watch the pre season games. I immediately fell in love. That early season I went to virtually every game home and away until I joined the Royal Navy at the end of that year. Whilst in the RN I never missed an opportunity to travel anywhere to see City play. Whilst based in Chatham, I regularly went to huge midweek games all around the London area but never if it was physically possible for me to travel to see City play.
I returned to Bradford mid 80’s and stayed. I have never had a break from going to VP. I’ve been to games all over the world but found nothing even close to supporting the Bantams.

Born in Bradford 1971. Lived on carr bottom ave for a few years before parents moved us up to Shelf.

No real interest in football at all growing up, dad was a Bradford Northern fan so we spent more time at Odsal than anywhere. Once I "grew up", I took a passing interest in the round ball, but only just enough to chat at work and with mates. Remained that way until approx. 2019, when my youngest started to play junior football and rapidly became obsessed with it. His Uncle is a city fan and we went with him to VP in 2021, and here we are 5 years later about to start our 4th season as ST holders. It escalated rapidly :joy:

Just a street away yes.. but we left there when I was 2 yr old and only have vague memories of a Grandfather clock and a Piano and playing in the leaves in the park opposite.

Born in 1954, lived in Bradford all my life.
Thornbury boy growing up, then lived on Holme Lane when we got married young in 1972.
Moved to King's Park BD2 in 1976 and been here ever since, nothing as exciting as a lot of us on here.
First went with Dad in early 60's, then with my mates from 67 onwards.
Was pestered by my daughter to take her but resisted until 1985 when I promised I would take her if we won the league, so her first visit was the day of the fire.
She is still as keen as ever after all these years and we went all over together back in the day.
25 year tickets just expired but we renewed anyway.
Wifey not too bothered but happy to accompany me to the few away grounds not previously visited for a nice weekend away.

Born in 1948 at Waddiloves, Queens Road just a stones throw from Valley Parade.
We lived in Barkerend until I was around 7 years old when we moved up to Bradford Moor next to the park, went to Thornbury Junior School, then Lapage, my brother had been going down to Valley Parade with our dad for a season or so before I started attending, the rest is history once you get Claret & Amber in your veins you become a lost cause.
Neither of my daughters were interested so I had to wait for my grandson to come along with me, the grandson his first season being the return of the Messiah in 2007, when Stuart came out to 17,000+ chanting Stuart, Stuart, Stuart he was hooked and takes defeat far worse than I did at his age although the wife disagrees, I must have been a pain in the arse for our lass but she always found me the attendance money and money for a couple of beers or so, mostly spent in the White Lion on John's Street
I remember the likes of Jim Lawlor Tommy Flockett, the Jackson twins, Malcom Currie, David Boyle and Gorege Mullholand, so it would have been around 1957/59 I started my regular pilgrimage to Valley Parade.

Born down south in a small town near Bedford/Luton in 1995.
My dad was born and raised in Bradford and took me to my first game when I was 5/6 (City v Coventry - a 2-1 victory I remember), begged my dad for a city shirt and been hooked every since (I remember not wanting to take it off so my dad had to buy me city pyjamas so he could wash it at night)

Went to a lot of away games as a kid as they were closer and saw a lot of dross as I started supporting us just after our relegation from the premier league but never lost the love for it.

Sadly my dad passed away when I was 16, the season before the Parkinson cup run so he never got to see it, the silver lining being that that cup run and promotion kept me going through a very difficult year.

Still go to a fair few but don’t make it to as many games as I’d like due to proximity but watch them all on BantamsPlayer.

Managed about 7 games this year with my mum, brother and my 6 year old (he’s started chanting “everywhere we go” around the in laws, who are Newcastle fans, when they bring up football which is great)
