Reading the transfer thread ‘morph’ into comments about ‘love ins’ with other local teams and the fact that more on here seem to live outside of Bradford, and general slow news, then perhaps a thread to look at who we are, where we are from and where we live now would be mildly interesting.
    • I was born in Bradford and lived in the Bolton Junction area.
    • Moved to Saltaire and then Baildon.
    • Went to Uni in Manchester, and basically stayed in that greater area.
    • Currently live in Saddleworth.
The group I go with is a row of 6. Only one lives locally, in Bingley, the others London and Bedford. Of City supporting friends, only one actually lives in the old City area (County Borough of Bradford). Others live in Baildon, Crossflats, Ilkley, Menston, Thornton and further afield.

I know a few L***S fans, and they are all decent people, if a tad patronising towards City.
    I fondly remember 27th August 2014!
My view towards them totally changed after the events of Odsal in the 80’s.
As has been said Shipley was a notorious L***S supporting area when I was growing up. I even went a couple of times.

Born Bd3, on the doorstep of Peel Park.
No interest in City from any of my parents. Got into City with mates and then lost touch with them.
Moved and worked all over the world with the army but returned to Bradford....more fool me huh?

Lived in Lidget Green as a nipper but moved upto Queensbury about 50 years ago, been there ever since. School was full of L***s fans!!

Worked in Halifax for 30+ years.

Got the bug from my dad, who was from Shipley and thankfully, I passed it on quite passionately to my 2 lads!! My daughter went once as she was curious where her dad and big brother went.....wasn't for her!!!

Born in Bradford 1978. Brought up in Allerton.
First City game 1985, been a regular since 1987, season ticket holder since 1995.

Moved to Wakefield in 2001 aged 23 for wife and work purposes. Been in Wakefield ever since (25 years so been here now longer than I lived in Bradford).

My Dad used to take me to games til I was old enough to go on my own. Now the wife and kids (13/17/19) are season ticket holders. Not many City fans in Wakefield, full of Leeds fans here. Kids proud to wear their City shirts when they’re around locally.

Brought up in Fagley, mum started taking me and big brother around 65/66. Moved out of Bradford to Beverley a year after the fire. Buggered off to USA in 2002. But because I don’t get to go to too many games my contributions must be ignored;)

As my user name suggests, born and bred Idle and still live here. I havent been as adventurous as most on here moving around the country and world.

Wife and I contemplated retiring to Ireland, where we have a lot of family. Looks like we will stay here though. We couldnt bear to leave daughter and grandkids behind to be honest.

Born at St. Lukes 6th June 1955.
Lived for a short time at Silverhill Road behind Bradford Moor Park
Moved to Idle and attended Thorpe Edge Infants, then Thorpe School then Eccleshill Grammar.
Whilst at Thorpe I made friends with a lad whose sister was one of the Golden Girls at City, if anyone remembers them. She could get us into the ground for free so that's when I started my Bantams journey in 1966.
Left school aged 15 to work at Rank Wharfedale at Apperley Bridge and started a mobile disco.
I left home and shared a house with my best friend and fellow DJ, on Dirkhill Road, Gt. Horton.
Met the future Mrs Kred and moved to Clayton, where I remain.
Followed City home and away until having kids made money tight but had a season ticket from the mid 80's till I started having Musculoskeletal issues in 2014 so now just pick and choose games when I feel well enough
Had loads of jobs until I settled at Grattans I.T. department for 39 years and retired in 2020.
My son and daughter and Granddaughter are all City fans.

Never lived in nor am I from Bradford..Born and raised in Leeds. First moved out at 18 to uni in Sheffield

Lived in Bolton, Ashton under Lyne and now Mossley (edge of Saddleworth near the thread creator) since graduating and finding work in Manchester. The West Yorkshire boundary is about half a mile from the end of my street, so I'm about as close to "home" as I have been since I was 18 in 2008...!

Dad started watching City when he was 12, though he too was non Bradfordian - Dewsbury born - moved to Bradford when he was about 5 and lived in Wilsden and Baildon.

We have the same issue as I wrote the other day. The family is a massive pull after a certain point in one’s life.

Born and lived in Grays, South Essex. My mum and uncle Bill were Gooners. He took me to my first pro football match at Highbury in 1963, age 7. I was an armchair Gooner for the rest of my childhood but never went to matches. I actually went to Upton Park a few times with a mate and his dad to watch the Moore/Hurst/Peters team.

Started seeing a girl in 1974 who was a massive West Ham fan and she dragged me along to matches, somewhat reluctantly at first. Before long I found that I had unconsciously switched allegiance, because going to live games gives you a connection that you just don’t get from the TV (especially back when there was almost no live football on TV). I went to virtually every home game at the Boleyn from 1975 until I started at Bradford Uni in October 1980. I continued to go to Hammers home games during uni holidays but once I settled here and started work for Bradford Social Services in 1984 that more or less stopped.

I saw my first City game in 1982 (League Cup v Man U) whilst still at uni, but didn’t start going regularly until the second half of the 84/85 promotion season (and, yes, I was there that day).
I lived in East Morton for eight years until moving to my present home in Baildon. I was an intermittent attender at VP for ten years until my wife bought me a season ticket for my 40th birthday, following the ‘96 promotion. I’ve been a ST holder and regular attender ever since. Both my kids are proud Bantams, although they live down south now.
I now see myself as having dual allegiance - an armchair Iron and a committed Bantam. Significantly, when City were beaten 5-4 in the PL I was sat on my old North Bank haunt at the Boleyn wearing Claret & Amber, not Claret & Blue. As I said, watching a team regularly in person gives you a deeper connection than the TV. The only consolation of our playoff defeat is that I won’t have to cope with both my teams playing each other again next season.

1956 born and bred in Ilkley. Now back in Ilkley. Uncle took me to my first match Burnley v Wolves 1967ish. Dad took me to Leeds a couple of times. Everyone at school supported Leeds or Man Utd. Older brother started following City so 1969 aged 13 started going with him. Completely hooked and very regular since. Season ticket holder for many years. Now 70 and sit with older brother and my 2 adult sons in the lower kop. 56+ years of great or not so great memories.

Born in St. Lukes -- where Mum worked -- the day after a loss to Darlington mercifully ended a truly depressing season. We lived on Fairfield Road, so I suppose just inside Manningham. But nurses changed jobs frequently in those days -- every two years was standard -- and soon we were off again, this time south to Maidenhead -- who as a result are my second team.

Then came Canada, where English-trained nurses were much in demand (and the salaries were far higher). Toronto first, then Hamilton. Then I headed off to the West proper, and Winnipeg. Now I'm on the road back east, with St. Catharines the current location of RCB Towers.
