I agree,doubt many will turn out for this even if it was free entry.

I've noticed there have been less than 1000 fans at some games so a competition nobody cares about.

 

We need to get back to winning ways.

I’d play a fairly strong squad and go for the win and get some confidence going.

I agree we should put out the closest team we can to Saturday's starting 11.

We need the team to have as much time as possible playing Hopkins preferred system and with each other.

 

Yes I agree with both comments, the more they play together the quicker they will learn what Hopkins requires from each player plus they will have another game under their belts, but 9/10 games into a new season we shouldn't be questioning match fitness.

 

Are they going to let us for free?

 

I've heard if we go down to the ticket office prior to the kick off they will actually pay us, a little like extra's on a film set, anyone know the going rate for an extra now a day, it's a long time since the days of Reece Dinsdale and "ID" .

The Checkatrade Trophy is an abomination and anyone who doesn't think that it's opening the door to B teams playing in the FL is kidding themselves.

Play a strong side though, we're in desperate need of a boost and game time, even in a friendly like this.

 

I agree with this comment, I'm sure the first time a Premiership U21/23 team gets to Wembley and the gate is mostly made up of the opposition fans the FL and Shaun Harvey will get the message.

 

No idea why anyone would traipse down to Wembley even if we got to the final.

I will never attend any game in this derisory competition.

 

Can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with others saying play a strong side. We need match time and fitness(still) even though we shouldn't, this could actually prove an important side show this season, but hopefully it will go back to being meaningless in the future. But as it stands we need the mentioned and a confidence that a potential win would bring, however meaningless.

 

There is another view of course.
PL teams aren't necessarily interested in B teams as there is no money in it for them.
More effort will go into the current PL2 competition as it's a far more attractive proposition.

Not sure about playing our fit 11, worried they might get injury, but also understand the view of gaining fitness and gelling as a team.

 

Should be boycotted until this ridiculous nonsense is stopped.
