I also have that feeling, Humphrys will be gone if there is an L1 taker. He probably won't accept a drop to L2, even though he should.

Get Leigh out too, two players without the drive to succeed here, imo.

Rio Shipston, small technical midfielder, played 20 times for Cork City on loan before deciding to move on. Zain Silcott-Duberry has a good pedigree to this point, 20 year old winger - I wonder if he could play back up to Pointon/Sarc?

Not sure they're GA's bag, though, seems to want players that are first team ready. Part of me wouldn't mind bringing younger players off the bench, though, as opposed to players like Lee Evans and Nick Powell.

 

If they are released as not L1 capable , even off the bench , then my first thought is why would we be remotely looking ?

I think Shipton decided long before the end of his contract to leave - which is in line with a lot of Wednesday players fed up with what they've been through.

I really don't know what the Wednesday squad will look like next season, or what they will prioritise. But if they aren't L1 ready, we don't need them.

 

Blackburn have gone with Tony Mowbray as their new manager so if Salford haven't got a new manager sorted I don't think it's a ridiculous idea for them to try to bring in Challinor. If you put the right package to him financially and on the pitch I don't see why he wouldn't go for it as it's the best job out there that's available unless he thinks he can get the Leicester job.

 

And Stockport go for McNulty from Rochdale . So much for Challinor jumping into the Huddersfield and Blackburn roles ? Sheff Wed or Leicester perhaps ?
