Due diligence can be as thorough as possible but it can never account for individual actions and decisions once the deal is done
Can’t keep blaming Mark Lawn for Rahic’s antics

Had we said no and it had gone wrong with Lawn then the knives would be out for him

10 years of nothing really..we’re exactly where we were when Rupp and Rahic bought us… what a waste of 10 years..

 

and roughly same place as ten years before that

 

Let’s just think about the last two years where great progress has been made and I think we are a club very much on the up now, the Rahic disaster is now history.

 

Rahic set the club back years and undid everything that Phil Parkinson and other staff had built up. Thank God that period is over.

 

Yes that season was enjoyable, but we later found out about what was going on behind the scenes. Such a shame.

 

Maybe in Rahic he found someone better than himself at spinning things.

 

Lawn was not blame, but Rupp is certainly accountable.

Now that he's steered us back to where we were, let's see if he can bring any progress at all.

 

The problem is now that we've pretty much peaked and it's a new puzzle now as to how we can realistically progress any further under Rupp.

 

This summer is probably going to be the most interesting in years
We now have to find a way of improving again
The starting 11 in August, could be very telling as to where the club actually are in terms of finance and reputation for picking up better players
We can not deny though that the past few seasons have put smiles back on faces

 

Could anyone see what that tosser Rahic was about to do apart from Parkinson ??????

If we had that sort of future vision, there would be millions sharing the lottery jackpot each week

Think there is gonna be a bit of a drop off which aint the end of the world to me buts it gonna be the incoming overreaction should we sit in midtable ...........its yet another rebuild and its gonna take time to get it right we masdively overachieved last season and folk need to remember that ...............gonna take one hell of an effort to repeat that.

 

Totally agree with this. Success for me would be a solid, competitive season, with a significantly improved squad that extends beyond just the 1st choice 11.
Next season will see a much tougher League 1, with relegated teams and under achieving teams from last season being a much stronger force. Even with a really good window, it will be a big ask for us to go this close again.
Would obviously love us to be up there again, but feel that the 27/28 season may be a more realistic target for a major promotion push. That's not being negative or defeatist, just realistic and if/when we do go up I want us to be equipped to be fully competitive.

 

If we can maintain our home form with very few losses/draws, we should be able to finish mid-table or above. It's the atrocious away form that needs attention and that means a solid defensive line is required and the greatest effort should be made to procure players or get good loanees in to bolster the defence.
