Is the forum profit making?

I have done some back-of-the-envelope calculations, and I think you're making a fair bit of revenue from just ads alone.

If you are asking for donations and users to pay, it would be nice to have some transparency around costs and whether the forum is zero-profit or profit-making.

Would you be willing to provide summary of costs and revenue?

Personally, I'm happy to pay if the forum is zero profit, but I would be be opposed to paying if it's a profit making business as I don't think a fan run community forum should work like that.

 

I think your post is borderline offensive. These are City Fans doing it in their own time. They have to buy extra cloud space (I think) this increases all the time due to usage. If they are making a profit it is of no concern to me personally. I use the site daily and gain mostly enjoyment, so don’t mind if the guys end up with profit. I pay all the time for entertainment, if I go to the cinema or watch a play I don’t ask for a profit and loss breakdown.

I'll happily pay for a subscription if the site is zero profit. And I think it's fair to ask for clarity around this

But if the site makes a decent profit, and then users are being hammered with hyper-aggressive ads, and asked for 'donations' then I won't be paying. It's just my personal preference.
