He's fine

 

Does Kayden count as a home grown player in terms of the player registration rules. If so that’s an extra squad member. The same was true when we had Matty Foulds.

 

I was really impressed with Jackson. He control let him down a couple of times but though he showed good energy, aggression and pace. Pleased it was just cramp as i was worried he'd got injured, probably needs to work on fitness of he's not been playing that much

 

Took his ‘goal’ lovely. Was disappointed he was brought off but understandable if he was lacking fitness.

 

Although it was disallowed it reminded me of the quote I posted recently by Ron Futcher. that scoring goals isn't about hitting the ball as hard as you can and Jacksons goal was exactly that just placing it where the keeper could not save it.

We had Sas (Dutch), Steiner (Swedish), Sundgot (Norwegian), Schwarzer (Oz), Edinho (Brazil) and Sergio Pinto (Portugese) around then didn’t we. Manic time!

 

I think you mean club-developed player.

Homegrown rules require clubs to name at least seven homegrown players in their matchday squads of 18, defined as players registered with an English or Welsh club for three seasons before turning 21. We have plenty of those.

Clubs must include at least one club-developed player (registered with them for a year as a teenager) or name one fewer player on the bench. We only had 1 player in the matchday squad, Pointon, who meets that criteria. From people have said there is a chance Kayden does count as a club-developed player. (takes away a constraint to selling Bobby!)

Sas in those first few months looked like we had a 1m plus player on our hands. Wow. Then the heavy pitches and grind got to him

 

I remember a comment from Edinho about Sas - described him as a "great player with the heart of a pea" (or words to the effect!).

Why can I remember stuff like that but not the names of my friends' kids?!

Could ping long diagonals to players feet and looked to keep the ball at the time when defenders were mainly heading sticks. Maybe that's why he looked good as he was different. Arguably a good defender in the wrong era

 

Around the first year of Bosman and Kamara got a bit giddy. Foreign players with foreign names were new to clubs like us

 

If the rumours were correct we turned down £1.2M from Leicester for him before the dramatic downturn. Perhaps it even played a part if he had his head turned.

That’s a blow, of all the January signings , he looked like a player that made us stronger
