It’s funny how people see things different. I’ve read someone call lapslie awful. And for the first 5 mins after his introduction we lost control of the game.
But after that he won plenty of headers and played some great one twos and passes with Josh down the right. I thought he looked decent for a lad who’s barely had a sniff in months.

Jackson and Mullin both great debuts. Mullin exactly what I knew he would do… shithousery and fighting for everything. Class.

Tilt was the only one who stood out as not having the best game for me. But he kept seeing a lot of the ball and that’s not his best asset. Not digging him out, as he did some stuff really well.

Good to see he's not jumping ship and grafting for the cause

 

Much better performance today although we did ride out luck a bit with them missing chances/clearance off the line but it was what we needed. We seemed to lose our way a bit after the first subs but got it back and got a brilliant goal. Mullin is going to be a real handful for defenders and you can see his experience, even if he doesn't start he's going to be a great option off the bench especially at home.
I thought Neufville had his best game for a while and most of it was because he was doing at the start of the season and keeping it simple, his pace will beat 99% of left backs so if he runs at them he will beat them for pace.

Huge 3 points as it should calm a few people down and give some belief back to the players

 

Absolutely agree about Lapslie. Looked composed and lively - won important headers and competed well. Very tidy in possession and gave us back really good control down our right. An inch away from stabbing in the winner a min or two before Wrights screamer. I don’t think he gets proper credit or a decent go - maybe that will change 2nd half of the season

 

Tilt was awful today

 

I thought Laps did really well when he came on, cool in possession, and linked well with Neufville.

I am surprised he hasnt seen more action this season to be honest.

 

I was trying to be positive and not dig him out

 

Beesley or even Jatta would be just what we need for a good promotion push. Both expensive as forwards always are mid season but either one worth pushing the boat out for

 

Both of them scored today.

Pennington made sure we won that game. Also put in a few last ditch tackles. We’d have been 1 or 2 down without his interventions.
Touray did his job well and played some nice balks down to Bob.
Metcalfe and Power controlled the midfield. Our team was driven on by Powers energy. He had more shots on target than he’s had in 3 years. Unlucky not to score.
Lapslie after a slow start linked up very well with Josh. No suprise the assist for the goal came from that side.

 

I’m still not convinced but I’m definitely looking forward to more 4th officials seeing the game better from 50/60 yards away rather than 3 officials who are 10/20 yards away at most.

 

I was shocked to see him in the squad at all tbh. I'm sure it was said the other day that his loan move to Cheltenham was off because he was injured.

 

Got to praise Josh today, he made some simple errors but as a creative outlet he was non stop and his defensive concentration was much better

 

Not a fantastic game.

But a game we had to win. That Wright goal was needed and blew the roof off VP.

Still a hell of a lot to improve. Like getting the ball up faster to out strikers!


But... Please... Why was the first goal disallowed. It wasn't hand ball from my view... The ref, the linesman didn't give it. But the 4th did. Yet that Twit is just as far away as me in the stand

 

Agree about Pennington. His clearance as good as a goal imo.

 

He certainly celebrated it like one.
