If we don't bring in a better forward, I have a feeling we could well be out the top 6 by the end of the Stockport game. There isnt a chance we will keep pace with Humphrys, the lad just isnt a finisher.

Nobody in L1 averages more shots per 90 mins than Humphrys, but his 4 goal return is really poor. One of those was a tap in for an open goal, didn't he score from a distance shooting at an open goal too? Two goals from created play this season isn't good enough for a player that has been put in the positions he has. If he could finish, we'd be walking this league.

Thursday is usually a regular transfer day down at Valley Parade, I'm hoping tomorrow.

Completely agree Jordan but when you go through the stats of his whole career he's not performing "poorly" in terms of finishing, he's performing about on par and this outcome was about as predictable as it gets.

I see Humphrey as left midfield option (up against Bobby). We need a better option up top. Not convinced Wheatley is the one but I guess thats for GA and the club to decide.

    I find that odd
I would prefer to have said player in training first thing on a Monday

Swan was lost in the first half because our left hand side was really really poor . Absolutely nothing emanated from there.

Yep.. hoping he wasn't just signed on his 5 from 5 at the end of last season for Barnsley.

Unfortunately we had to move on from Cook
Contract up in the summer and unlikely to be offered a new one, he also wanted to play games and wasn’t getting any
Time will tell if the club have got it right
If we had brought a decent replacement in the same time, I don’t think it would feel such a big issue

Correct and he was getting bombarded with hoof balls which he rarely got a head to in that half.

True. Nothing created all over the pitch I would say though
Something had to change and we did look better second half , but still a little toothless in my opinion

If so it'll probably be the "injured, can't play until sometime February - maybe longer as he has to then get match fit" Manchester United kid?

Even if not injured, it doesn’t give them much time to get up to speed in their new surroundings given that there is usually a game 2 days later

I suppose it depends on the plans? Nobody seems to ever do much transfer wise on a Saturday/Sunday, deals usually are announce from the Monday but even if it's not signed, you'd need to make sure the player is around for first thing on the Monday morning which probably isnt always available depending on where you are signing them from.

Someone could be in Monday morning, finalise bits of the deal between club and agent potentially, medicals, photoshoots etc and your Monday training session might well be pretty much missed. Then you could have them in for one day on the Tues but if you have a match the Tues night, training might not be that intense. If not and you have a full day training Tues, the players have Wednesdays off I believe? Not really a rhythm going. I don't think there's a specifically better day to get people in these days as at most you train for 2 days in a row if they have Sundays and Wednesdays off.

Well that is not good enough. If he isn’t fit then having to wait is poor for both player and club

I think we've all moved on but I'll still call out the bulls**t when I read it.

Can we send them Kavanagh in exchange
Call it a repayment for their offside goal at Wembley

Darragh has firmly put to bed any rumours of Jimmy Jay-Morgan leaving this window. His loan had no recall clause and he says nobody in L1 (Barnsley are linked) will be buying him outright as the lad is currently earning £17k a week on his PL contract.
