You would think this means Brad his on his way? Grimsby were rumoured to be after him, their fans are v giddy about Cookie but I think Brad would be an even better signing for them given fitness.

Or maybe we've got an offer we can't refuse for Josh - feels less likely?

Brad is too good for L2 imo.

The only logic I can see in letting him go is that he's on a decent wage and the coaching staff are confident Neufville is #1 for the rest of the season, so don't want loads of wages locked up in a sub.

I'd prefer us to keep him. He's a solid back-up for when Neufville is injured or out of form. The only way I'm happy letting him go is if the funds/wages are used for a marquee goal scorer signing.

Selling Neufville is unthinkable imo. We have him on a three year deal. Selling now would show such a lack of ambition.

    In the linked article...

Ashby's arrival could throw a question mark over Brad Halliday's situation. The former City player of the year is understood to be attracting interest.

Not sure this would be being reported if there wasn't something in it.

    Harrison cost Newcastle 3 million...

But it hasn't worked out for him there. Great signing for us if it works out, but doesn't look like we'll be keeping either unless we go up.

Could be something to keep an eye on, but Ashby played half his loan spell at QPR in the LWB and half on the right.

Why would you keep a right back in Halliday, as back up for Neufville, when we have just signed a right wing back as back up for Neufville?

Both Ashby and josh have played quite a lot on either side.which could help in an injury crisis

Good signing this. Plenty of Championship experience.

Looks like he can play either on right or left.

This certainly paves the way for Halliday to move on now.

I was hoping this might be a permanent signing. I guess the player keeping his options open in the summer and wants to play Championship long term?

We're not Man City, we don't need 3 right wing backs, regardless of how reliable the players are.

I agree, if there's interest in Brad and a modest fee on the table, I'd let him go play full back for someone else.

We'd obviously have to replace Ashby in the Summer, but that would probably be the situation with Brad anyway.

I have to say, Halliday, Cook and Pattison leaving would probably represent 3 really, really good players - but I guess we're trying to build upwards, which is the right thing to do.

Is that right? I didn't realise, I'd read he was contracted until 2027 on a couple of databases - and then when I fact-checked it, I couldn't find anywhere they'd disclosed terms beyond "long term"?

I believe you, just didn't see that myself.

I sincerely hope I’m wrong with this but Josh body language of late makes me wonder if he just hasn’t settled “ up north”. That can sometimes happen and it’s not a footballing thing but a personal thing - City have received a tempting offer and the player wants to pursue it ?

Well he is 6 months into a 3 year deal - he needs to put his big boy pants on and see out the season at least. Doesnt seem to be any rumours in the press though.

I just think he ran out of steam a bit and understandably struggled with the focus teams put on him. That focus might be a little more difficult if Sibley and White can perform to their best.

I know - who is creating these comments around Neufville ??? Us - and why?
He obviously got off to a good start, teams then focussed on blocking him - we should be looking to do more to help him and let’s hope this window will do that. I know nothing about Ashby - Halliday is ok for L1 but I doubt Champ, let’s hope Ashby could be.
Great to have these conversations instead of dredging the sh*t pool.
