Have you reflected in the progress in the last 12 month over Christmas? I have ..... wowser the progress had been phenomenal. The defence is solid and if we are to do anything that would be midfield strength, strikers and move on the squad fillers. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

It was only half tongue in cheek, with Pennington also in that role I don't expect any incoming there although I would like to see Byrne move on and McIntyre sent back with another pacey centre coming in.

Agreed on midfield if we can move one out and certainly an addition to compete with Sarc/Bobby plus a striker.

I keep harking back to that farewell eulogy to Baldwin by one of the Notts reporters. We are getting exactly what he said we would. Moments of brilliance, moments of madness and the occasional complete brain fart. He promised it would be a roller coaster ride with him and he was spot on. So far for me the ups are outweighing the downs.

having seen Aaron Lewis a few times and him being out of contract in the summer.. I wonder if he's worth a punt as an established utility player in league 1.
27 year old, he can play full back and anywhere in midfield and could be a better option than Leigh.

Either way, we need cover in CM. An injury to Power would be critical for the team.

I like Pattison. His injury record is obviously the issue here which is why I agree we should be looking to upgrade on him. However, he has ability and when fit, should be part of the squad.

 

I think some of the trust has been lost between manager and player tactically, there were a couple of home games earlier in the season where Alexander was constantly shouting at Pattison about his positioning or pressing too early. I'm sure he will have a few offers, I wouldn't be surprised if Harrogate are linked.

I would imagine CM will be high on our list because if Metcalfe didn't find this form he has in the last few weeks we would have been in a bit of trouble, also naturally as a young player he will have an off spell where we might need to take him out of the team for a couple of games. Also as others have said it's only a matter of time that Power picks up his 10th yellow card and it's looking likely he'll get to 15, if he does that's 5 games he will miss that we need cover. I don't think we would want to take Sarcevic out of his role as it's so key to the team and we don't have a like for like replacement for him either.

 

Agree, its unrealistic for Metcalfe to play at 80-100% of his potential for the rest of the season. Leigh has done well on occasions but he doesn’t have the hard graft and willingness to stick his foot in that Power and Metcalfe have which weakens out midfield if he plays
