Duncan Watmore is still a free agent, would ahve snapped your hand off to get him in the summer. Seems Sheff Wed are chasing his signature but no idea why he hasn't found a club. Accomplished Championship AM/WG and only 31.

Apparently he's been on and off training with Wednesday for months, they've had a raft of known free agents training with them for months. I know they brought in Liam Cooper but no idea how many others. He was training with Stockport too for a bit but Challinor didn't think they should offer him a deal according to Stockport fans. Rotherham linked too. I'm guessing it's his injury history that putting everyone off.

 

Someone mentioned loans on the "what do we need" thread.

A couple of loan signings that are maybe unfancied at their current club or at the end of their contracts and who have the ability to step up to the championship IF we were lucky and would want to stay or could be convinced to play league one next season could be very astute business.

No ideas on names, just thinking about the profile of player.

 

Must be the injury towards back end of last season then. Fair enough. Although Challinor doesnt really do deals for over 30s anyway (Norwood aside) which is why 3 or 4 have ended up at City.

 

Cameron Humphreys (22, CM) isn't getting game time at Ipswich and had a good loan spell at Wycombe last season (7G 6A).

Marc Leonard (23, DM) is another one looking to leave Birmingham for game time but did have 36 appearances in their title winning team last season.

I see League One in both their futures.

 

It's 2 ACL injuries on the same knee that will always be a red flag to all teams. When he was a winger at Sunderland as a youth he was rapid but he cant play like that anymore, think Millwall just used him as a forward or wide in a front 3. Even outside his ACLs, he seemed to pick up a yearly knock on his ankle and has from the looks of things a few thigh issues after a tear in his thigh before. He was out from Feb for Millwall with a quad injury and didn't play again before his release.

In his two and half seasons at Millwall, he played 80 games, 44 starts but completed 90 minutes just 6 times. He didn't feature in 38 matches in his spell there. Talented lad at one time, but just cant be relied upon anymore to play often anymore with his injuries. Seems another Nick Powell type.

Sam Smith at Wrexham, might do a job (although he's probably not the only one).

4 successive seasons in league one with double figure returns, scratching for minutes with Wrexham and might be willing to drop back down having played regular at this level.

 

250k is nothing for someone who is 27 and in hot form. Although I watched a recent game, and he was anonymous

 

Not sure about the Wrexham away kit this year.
