Despite it’s lazy tabloid style, with standard “club source” quote (there’s no club source), the article is pretty much spot on...It must be worrying for the owners that stuff like this is getting out there.

This is why it was a huge mistake to let James Mason leave.

Given the outrage on here that defenders took spot-kicks ahead of forwards in the shoot-out the other week this shows that Edin is fully in tune with the fans on this matter.

Didn't Collins say he let the players themselves decide who would take the penalties at Macclesfield?

Comparing them with Laurel and Hardy is a massive insult to Stan and Ollie

Surely 'Edin for ruin' would've been a better title....

Why would Edin choose crap penalty takers which would knock us out of a cup competition which would then stop any extra money coming into the club?

Doesn't pull any punches does it?! True or not, it's dragging our reputation down among the footballing community. Not good for relationships both on and off the field.
As the T&A article touched on over the weekend, Edin has this barrier of arrogance which stops him communicating to the fans, without being arrogant, without sympathy and without responsibility.
After reading this, surely even he will admit it's time to come out of the woodwork and start answering questions, instead of just deflecting statements. Rupp needs to be alongside him for sure.
Looking at Blackpools empty stand on Saturday, I hope it really hit home to him how much of an influential role a proper chairman should play.

it is true. that's the damning and very worrying thing.

for months/years people have said stuff like "be thankful we don't have the Blackpool or Charlton owners" but that misses the point that that is exactly what we have got. our own version of Karl Oyston, or the people running the show at Charlton. things are that bad.

Edin's wife is among the top 6 highest paid club secretaries in the country, despite having zero experience of such a role.
if that doesn't ring alarm bells, maybe the fact that not only her, but her husband also takes a 6 figure salary should.

if that doesn't then I can't really help you.

Well this club can not afford those salaries, Rupp needs to review those salaries in the light of our needing players in!

I think if French, Italian, Irish had bought the club I think they would have got just as much stick just that their relevant nationality would have replaced German in the criticism.
Dont forget the supporters welcomed them with open arms when it was thought they would do well for the club

    A) My post was reffering back to the McCall days and I'm assuming the article was too, so who took them vs Macclesfield has little relevance to the point

B)We don't currently have a sellable asset on our books in the Wyke mould so theres no need for Edin to decide on who takes penalties as he did last season

C)Choosing 5 penalty takers for a penalty shootout is clearly not the same as choosing a set one for league games.

In short, it's easy to see why he got involved last season but not for the Macclesfield game. In isolation, it doesn't seem like a serious offence but when the Chairman has a reputation of being hands on it tells a thousand words. Ultimately, these decisions should have been left to McCall.

The only accurate information in that paper is the day and date.
Its a clear copy and paste from social media comments and is about as accurate as you want it to be.
It doesnt have any response from the club for balance which is lazy but expected i guess for that paper.

This article is not xenophobic but the Daily Star certainly does publish other xenophobic articles.
