We are a bit like Wycombe last year. But and I say but it’s a bloody long season. Lose key players and you’re doomed. I like so far press press press

Wycombe where up against 2 clubs that bought promotion we aint this season.
To early to say but you never know apart from the 1st half at Stockport and the no show at Donny i have seen nothing that we should fear.
Lets not forget that Luton.Hudders,Stockport and Cardiff are all fancied for the autos and apart from the first half at Stockport we have deserved all 12 points.

Were on a good run but probably a couple of injuries away from mid table.. similar to last season when we lost our midfield

We've started well and are playing well. I like the fact that Alexander and the players don't look beyond the next game and move on quickly from the previous game. That philosophy is growing on me too. In the past I'd try and guesstimate how many points we'd pick up in a 3/4 game run, but I'm not interested in that anymore. I couldn't honestly tell you who we play next Saturday, but assume we'll be at home.

Too early to tell if we can be considered Dark Horses by anyone.
Right now I'm happy and content that we are looked on as the Dazzling Chickens.

Interesting to see what happens come January should we still be hovering ?????
Is Rupp gonna bankroll us to the championship knowing that if it happens that the club will be worth a lot more than what he paid for it ?????
To early to be thinking that far ahead but its gonna be one hell of a problem if it does happen.
I mean even without his money there should be some war chest being built up with the cup runs and the increased gates which i can see continuing should we keep doing well .

Excellent start to the season. We've already played and beaten most of the fancied teams.

Whether we can sustain the results against teams who defend deep, and more importantly whether we can find another effective tactic when the high press becomes more difficult on the heavy, energy sapping, pitches of winter remains to be seen.

Awesome start and we don't look out of place at the top end of the table.

I voted too early to say but I think that's my default response to years of disappointment and failure - been hurt too many times and need to protect myself!

Does anyone know of a website / tool where you can look at league tables from previous seasons? It'd be interesting to see how current standings compare to what's gone before

The acid test will be this. How will we fare against the sides who will inevitably come to VP seeing a point as a very good result.

I think the acid test will come when teams start to try work out how we play and figure or come up with a way to counter act that.

I use the term loosely as im not sure it totally suits, but i think we have been "lucky" so far in playing teams in the main who are good sides and will have focused on there on performance as opposed to worrying about us, which ultimately didnt help them.

It seems we are one of the few teams who chose to play good counter attacking yet positive football.

I talk to a town fan who watched our game with them and also parts of the Cardiff game and he said teams, particular huddersfield cant or couldnt cope with how direct we were. He said he doesnt mean that in a derogatory long ball way but mainly how quick we look to attack. He's been very complimentary thus far and thinks we will do well.

I think the point stands as the only two negative teams we have come across thus far, Peterborough and Northampton , we havent looked as impressive due their own reluctance to play football

I don’t buy into that theory. We’ve only struggled in the past against teams who sit deep because we haven’t had the players to break it down.
    It’s completely different now.
Eg. Would we have got a draw at Newcastle if we’d been determined to get one? I think the answer is no.

I'm hoping to be proved wrong but you're example of us against Newcastle is a bit of a stretch considering we're talking two league one sides compared to us and Newcastle.

There's a site called something like 11v11.com where league tables can be reconstructed for all leagues, past and present at specific dates, not just the final table. I guess that's what you'll need to look at.

@Dennis@Dennis is spot on. 11v11 is the one to go to. Below is the table for the corresponding day, the last time we had a very decent League One season.

It is sad to see, good away day Bury. That season we played them on grand national day, sadly one of the last away games my best friend went to before he stopped going for health reasons. Both won on the national and city won 2-0. Good times.
