Top signing, just get behind the lad and he'll deliver.

I didn't really understand what you meant with the comparisons, mate.

But yes, we should definitely be signing players better than the ones we have - then again, competition for places should make a world of difference in and of itself.

Let's never forget how poorly conceived and assembled last year's side was. Simply signing an actual squad that makes sense and has cover and provides options is the difference between a side finishing absolute rock bottom, and a side that's actually not that bad.

If he is the little sulky winger that played against us at their place he looked half decent.

I have no idea why people have decided he is shite already while being delighted with two Centre halves from Sunday league and Accrington reserves.

I wouldn't take what opposition fans say as gospel. Just look at how players are rated so differently on here.

We are highly unlikely to know much about any of our signings.

Last summers name signings such as Payne got many excited. And we bombed. Give Bowyer a chance. See how they perform. Then judge.

this if you watch it properly is EXTREME poor defending rather than a good goal
    fair enough mate.

You were right in the first instance, his pace is pretty whatever, it's the defending that's eye-catching.

    Absolutely awful.

Someone quoted an average of £1500p/wk on L2 players. Whilst Devine, Richards-Everton, Ismail and Hornby will be on around that amount (average), I’d expect French to be on less. I estimated a total of around £6700 p/wk for the 5 players combined. Obviously I don’t know their salaries, but let’s say Ismail is getting £2k, 3 are getting around £1.3k and French around £800p/wk, it adds up to the figure I quoted above. Hope this clarifies where my figures came from.

Of course the recruitment hasn’t finished. But every time we sign (what most others on here have deemed) a “squad-filler”, it reduces the pot left to bring in the quality we need.

Let’s say £200k is put aside for signing-on fees, transfer fees and Agent fees, plus the circa £350k we are paying the 5 new signings, this leaves us with just £450k (ave £8600p/wk) across 6 players. This wouldn’t even cover the average wage of 6 L2 players, let alone signing the half a dozen quality additions we need.

Folk aren't going to want to hear it, however at best next season we're treading water, this is because we'll still have plenty of last season's crap holding us back. They don't want to be here, many of us don't want them here. Contracts and fat salaries ( for this level) dictate otherwise.
Next summer when the dross has gone, we can start to build with much more solid foundations.
Season after that will be the one where we push for play-off/auto spots.
And that is only if GB knows what he's doing now. Or it's goodnight Vienna

Wright will go to Orient, can’t honestly see O’Connor, Scannell and Riley being there at the end of July. There’s the think end of £750k or more in those four.

Will have probably missed out on our targets by then and will end up with Longstaff on loan and that’s it.

Mate, your post just consists of pure guess work.

“Let’s say” we’ll just revisit at the end of July.

Has he accepted? I've not seen anything. Wonder if there's a deadline.

    End of July? Doubt it.

Not convinced all will leave. This Wright to Orient might not happen either.

It's not about a deadline. His agent will more than likely be talking to other clubs.

For me he isn't good enough to wait for anyway.

Not having a go but I could give you far better examples of Bradford City players we signed that "bombed" who were a sight worse than Jack Payne.
Many who we paid good money for couldnt make the bench never mind the starting 11.

Who’s fairly injury prone - I’m sure he’d get game time.
