    If anyone ask
If anyone asks me where I am from I say Bradford. If they don't know where it is let them look it up. Anyone who comes from bradford and says near Leeds should be shot. I'm from Bradford first Yorkshire second England third. I'm English not British and I'm certainly not europe9

In a way not surprised at scenes at Wembley after our match v Millwall there. Stewards totally overwhelmed and given impossible job when faced by a bunch of intimidating drunks ( I don’t say all were, but many were). It just should be mass policing. Why England fans have to turn almost every big game into a disgrace is beyond me but sadly can’t surprise any of us any more. It’s all I think of England supporters which may be unfair on the majority but it seems to be a sizeable minority. It’s one of the reasons I just can’t get excited by England. I don’t really want to be associated with much of the behaviour yesterday.

Viewing figures peaked at 31 million last night. If you think that’s 31 million different TVs or laptops etc. That doesn’t count how many people were sat around them. The percentage of @rseholes is a tiny tiny minority that shouldn’t put you off supporting the national team. For me England and Bradford are on par. I think at 8pm last night if you would have said to me we win the Euros tonight and City finish 8th then I’d have taken it. The nation deserved it after the last 18 months and I think the scenes would have been incredible. Southgate and the players can be very proud for uniting the millions of millions of people over the past 4 weeks.

Yes we deserved it, no other country has suffered in the last 18 months. Let’s win a game of football that’ll make everything alright and Italy haven’t had it tough…

I've been to Paris once. And lots of other bits of France and Spain various times. Italy many times. Prague, Budapest, Amsterdam, several bits of Greece and Turkey. Don't ever remember encountering any particular hostility. I've never been to Germany.

@Offcomedun@Offcomedun - my grandad went to Germany once, didn't end well for him. They didn't seem to care for Brits back in 43.

    And the feeling was mutual.
But what has that got to do with modern day England or Germany?

Berlin is a fantastic City, Charlottenburg is especially beautiful, and is the old British section of the city, because of this you can still spot little English touches like UK traffic lights. Because of its history a bigger percentage of the older population speak English than other parts of the City so you get to strike up conversations with locals especially in some of the bars and cafes.
Parisians are painted as arrogant and distant, no one likes to make eye contact and in the main people are rushing about & don’t have time to speak to you.........virtually identical to London!!
Just like London, if you peel away the top layer you can find extremely welcoming friendly locals who will bend over backwards to help you.
What the Germans & Parisians hate are English oafs who turn up in replica football shirts, sing 10 German bombers and act like they own the place!

Berlin is an amazing place, i will be going back as soon the pandemic safely allows. Potsdam is a great place to visit, about 45 minutes away on the train, sanssouci park is a must visit while you're there. Hoping to take a football match in there with my lad.

Try and get to a Union Berlin game if you can. Fans rebuilt the stadium themselves, mostly standing, brilliant atmosphere.

    This.

I've travelled all over the place, never had an issue because I am English - apart from a badly timed joke I made in Argentina about the Falklands so I probably brought that on myself.

The people I know who claim everyone hates us are unlikely to have gone anywhere save from Benidorm or England away games. They might want to think about why people they come across on those trips have an issue with them.

Back in the 90s I met a Parisian girl in Ibiza, a few months later I spent a couple of weeks staying with her in a little apartment just off Montmatre......
I can tell you for certain not all Parisians are awful, in fact I can with certainty tell you some are extremely accommodating and very eager to please!!
You must have just met the wrong ones!!
