The league is so bad but we have a shocking manager.

Let's take the comments from Wellens he Swindon manager about tomorrow's game:

Wellens said: “We lift the fans by winning. Play well and win – it’s simple, isn’t it?

“As long as our supporters come along and see that our players are giving everything they can, we’re trying our best to entertain and get results, I think our supporters will be happy.

Bowyer's mindset is all wrong and he's wrong for the club. Swindon are not a good side but they have a manager that gets it.

One manager wants to try to win every game the other is scared of losing!

We will go up if we sack Bowyer and quickly.

 

Fans aren't daft, they don't want to spend another season in this wretched division as its soul destroying, we can see a nailed on chance of getting out of it could possibly slip away because of a negative game plan. All down to who wants it more in this division.

 

Expectation level off the scale? What on earth are you in about now? I expect to get out of this division, a 2.7 million budget should suffice any manager at this level to get promotion. Its the bottom of the ladder of English professional football FFS, if you don't expect to get out of it what's the point in turning up?

 

While I don't think the division is rubbish, I think we have the squad to get this done - particularly given how adept we've looked at shutting other teams down.

I'll give Bowyer some credit, especially for turning us round, but it's at this moment that we need more for multiple reasons:

We need to be attracting season ticket buys for next year, we can't tolerate the fans hating the football on offer, and we're legitimately in danger of losing our season-long play off spot - if we continue our form, we'll lose out, end of.

Bowyer's opposition fearing statements aren't helping on any fronts, especially when the team look devoid of confidence. Surely Gary has to see that it's time he started backing the lads on and off the pitch, and started to unpick a lot of the work he's put in this season.

 

How will that work then, because Bowyer is here for the season at least

I think we mostly agree the league is shit. Regardless of our inability to create sufficient chances in most games, we’re still well placed to go up automatically. Good away followings at the next couple of games (against poor teams) with a midweek home game in between, 9 points are achievable. I’ve voted yes, we might dick somebody 4 nil soon...I know it’s Friday night but no beer has been consumed, somehow, I genuinely believe we’ll go up.

If we we doing well @king karl wouldn't of started the thread. We haven't really been in the top 3 all season and fans are not happy with the playing style at all.

We would be bottom of the league and you would say we are doing well!

 

Sums it up for me
Can't see Bowyer departing this season but will most certainly be gone by Christmas whichever league we are in its a sobering thought being a L1 side with him at the helm
Personally think we will lose in the play offs (not even a Wembley trip to look forward to) due to negative tactics and being scared senseless of the opposition because they have 11 players who can hurt you
Imagine GBs pre match team talk with Sir Bobby in the team wouldn't like to guess BC response to it

3 out of 12 isn't doing well.

Man Utd are 5th in the PL ...they're not doing well! Hence all the take about them.

We're not doing well!

 

We absolutely have to start playing on the offence, and quickly. We have to start having a go at teams and getting a convincing and dominating win. I believe if that happens it sudden lifts players confidence, belief in the team and manager from supporters that we can actually do this.

On the flip side, continue as we are and I sadly don’t see enough to get us through. Donaldson is key for me. The sooner he’s back, the better.

A convincing victory today could really help us kick on.

Think before the season started SR JR &GB would have been happy with stability and a mid to high league finish. As the season has progressed and no disrespect to other teams the fans have realized it's such a poor league and promotion is well within our grasp if only the manager would go for it
This is why the fans are turning on Bowyer (especially at Carlisle) and quite rightly so we have an excellent chance of an instant return to L1 but are being held back by negativity and fear of the opposition sad really

The fans have the best interests of the club at heart and its soul destroying watching an excellent chance of an instant return slip away due to one mans stubourness and negativity
He will have the chance to go on and manage other clubs ( poor them) the vast majority of fans will be here long after he has gone and should be listened to we are not asking for the earth just a bit of POSITIVETY and attacking flair

 

He takes an L for talking up Mansfield. They’re pants. We’ve got the top scorer. Just go at them.
